I'm also a big fan of the bubble upstairs on VA.Where as before that was available we also sat at the back downstairs but it used to really annoy me being served last with food and drinks as there was never any choice left for us.Also we too have been stuck at the back of the line at customs and the wait was about 90 mins plus.We sat in the bubble last year and it was great so quiet, loads of space at the side of you with that great little storage area for your bags, and best of all you board first and get off first.

In all the times I have been we have only had someone in the third seat once.

Most of our flights have been sold out or nearly so very little chance of an empty seat. If I had a chance to book the pair or take my chances I know which I would choose but since immigration is less of a concern for us my view may be different than some. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Hi everyones - I was just wondering whether I should book activities in advance? There will be a group of 8 going on the 11th April for one week.

    Activities we've looked at include:
    Skydiving
    1/2 nights VIP bottle service
Helicopter/plane ride over the strip/Canyon (can anyone recommend which is better?)

As you maybe able to tell, this will be our first trip to Vegas so we're definite novices. We're all looking at taking approx $4k each and won't be gambling much so hope this will suffice?

Any help would be massively appreciated.

Our flight next Sunday is completely full. I went to book our flights about 2 hours after they opened and all upper deck, pairs, PE and upper were filled. I think it's the first flight out of MAN for 2014, so that may be why it's so full.

I'll be refreshing continually on Thursday when the seats open for the return.

We are going back to having a stop on our next trip. Virgin are just not for us after trying them three times. The couple of hours changing flights at PHL or similar, includes getting through immigration and customs, so it really isn't that much different for us. Getting straight off the plane in Las Vegas is great.
  • Just come back from Vegas using BA from Gatwick - both flights (out Mon return Wed) were not full. Noticed the BA aircraft was much smaller than Virgin plane.

Thanks for all the input over sitting upstairs - very happy with my decision now!

Next question - any tips re transfers? We want to pre-book - any recommendations for companies?

Do you mean transfer from airport to hotel?

If so no need to prebook, just jump in a taxi, should be around $20 depending on which hotel

Agree with photome, pre booked transfers are very overpriced. Even more than being long hauled.

Agree with the above. A taxi is the way to go.

With a shuttle bus you can wait ages until the bus fills up, you could be the last drop off and the return transfers are notorious for not turning up.

Pebblesmax we also fly out of Manchester and because of the lack of direct flights they are in general always full.I only go in August and am already getting worked up about when I can select seats,I know the date I can do it but I will be trying some days before aswell!
After the nightmare we had in Nov with BA seats at the back my fear is now not what is at the side of me it's what's in front that worries me the most!!!!!(a 7ft giant!!)
I think if there are no seats upstairs we might go for 2 aisle seats or even if it's available seat plus and pay for an empty seat next to us!OH doesn't understand why I get so worked up about it but then again he always has the best seat and I get to sit next to the stranger next to us!!!
