Can anyone explain Mlife to me please. Ive just signed up as I have some Vegas rewards so have just created an account but don't fully understand the site.
When we get there I assume we go to the Mlife desk to register and get a card.?
Is this the same card that you see people putting in the slot machines whilst playing?
It says you gather points for rewards whilst playing- is that when you get there and are playing the machines or s that on My Vegas slots before you go.
As you can tell Im easily confused!0 -
all correct as you just wrote.....
card goes in slots and on the tables.....
MyVegas links to your mlife account for rewards...0 -
Thanks for the reply. So I assume that there is no other card that you pick up at the hotel. Last time we went 12 years ago you had to ask at reception for a card for the slots and I don't think Mlife existed then.
Can I ask a couple more questions then please. Only I have an account and play MyVegas, my partner doesn't. Does he need to sign up for an account or will he be given a different card for playing the machines in the hotel casino?
Also, what type of awards can go you get? Assuming that you gain points playing when you get there then how can redeem them unless you are going again?0 -
Thanks Stuie. It will be great if you can have all your rewards loaded at once and use them as and when you want.
And I read Brats' list as 6 rewards...the 2x being the single reward for 2 free buffets in those cases.
be careful, most of the buffets are only valid for 24 hours once loaded on the card and if its expired before you use it, you wont get your points back0 -

thanks penny - that's how we thought it worked...it's not that big of a deal but would have been nice if you could stop by once and then be free to just head to the dining establishment as and when you wanted during your trip.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

it was just the MGM Players Club then, I think....same idea, different name.
Have a look at the mlife website for more info in terms of how you earn and what you earn.
https://www.mlife.com/pages/express_comps.html
When you play you earn points which convert to different things, basically...Express Comps you can just use your card at restaurants and that sort of thing with the card and your ID. You can also earn points toward free slot play and the like.
Mlife is more confusing than Total Rewards to me (1 point = 1 cent) but we have made use of the Express Comps and free slot play. They are pretty good about explaining it when you sign up if you ask.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
I'm thinking about getting a moneycorp explorer card (it looks like it's a visa) as it seems to be the only fee free card I can use for dollars when I go in September. The only thing is, I'd like to load it with most of the money I'll take some cash too. Are there many cash points around to be able to cash out easily and for free when I want to? I used this kind of thing when travelex were doing a fee free card a few years ago in New York and it was easy to get out cash out regularly. Has anyone here got one of the moneycorp cards before and how have you found it to use in vegas?0

I would do a bit more research - there may be no fee but the exchange rate on that card doesn't look great if I am looking at it correctly (1.601)...it may be fee free but depending on what fees are involved with others it may not be the best deal.
Have you had a look here:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/travel/cheap-travel-money
there is a section on pre-paid cards some of which say that there are no withdrawal fees.
Most ATMs in Vegas charge - those in most casinos charge $5-$6.
Casino Royale has (or at least used to) a lower fee ATM and last trip when we were there LVH was doing a no ATM fee deal that we stumbled across, though it did say it was for a limited time.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
