I've only stayed in a corner suite but they're nice. If it's a treat how about the Mandarin in a suite?0 -
Goodness, The Cromwell...you are going to be pretty elite, aren't you?
I cannot believe the prices...I saw on Vegas Chatter that TR members were able to start booking so thought I would have a look...for our first 5 nights in October with both of us on the booking the standard room (350 square feet) nearly $1000 before tax and resort fee.
Thanks, but I think we'll be passing on that. If we wanted to push the boat out and book a higher-end hotel it's not going to be $200+/night for 350 square feet (even if it does have a 55" telly), sorry.
Ok - looking at it further...same dates.
2 Bay Suite Displaying modern and retro decor with a Parisian touch, the 723-square-foot 2 Bay suite features one king bed, hardwood floors and vintage trunk-style furnishings. This Vegas suite also has a dining and living area with a 55-inch flat-screen. While every suite has a steam shower with a rain shower head and a vanity wall with hair and makeup products, this one has its tub in the room. There's also a refrigerator with food options for sale. The elevator lobby offers coffee, tea and fruit-infused water.
All that for a mere $4,170 before tax and resort fee. 723 square feet for FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS for 5 nights.
I am seriously in awe...in a city where you can get quite a lot for your money. It is a really interesting concept and they are clearly targeting a very, very specific type of customer. I guess since the hotel is so small, relatively speaking, they opted to go this super exclusive route.
Especially with a club on the roof which I have to think is going to raise some noise concerns with hotel guests.
It will be intersting to see how it all works out for them.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

I did a price check for Cromwell yesterday too. Silly prices! I think they are pricing it far too high.
Bring back Barbary Coast! It was great to stay there then.0 -

It does seem quite ridiculous...the only thing I can think is they are catering to people who want a 'boutique' hotel experience and will be all about Drai's, etc...but when other hotels will give you so much more for your money in terms of square footage, it seems a bit of a risk. Will be interesting to see what happens.
I read on Vegas Chatter that IP may be undergoing room renovations to bump them to 4* with significant price increase from this summer I think it was...it's a shame to see the budget options disappearing.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
we chose seats for our return flight this morning. It's not nearly as exciting as chosing seats for the outbound leg.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

The prices will go down. Pretty quickly, especially on the ridiculously overpriced suites. CET should know better but they're trying to cash in on the hype of being a new "boutique" hotel and are currently pricing it more than NOBU. Their main rival (in their minds) is the Cosmopolitan which is twice the size at base, and half the price on the suites. And the Cosmo is not a cheap hotel by Vegas standards!
I was slightly interested before the specs came out, but 360 sq ft won't even get me through the door at any price. I hadn't even thought about the club noise. It's a small hotel, it's going to be a big issue unless they've put in some major soundproofing. I might have a meal at Giada's though, depending on the menu.0 -
