Plan would be to walk over to MC on the Weds to check in around 2pm ish, try the $20 trick, and see what we get... We get the keys, go see the room, and then leave and go back to Luxor, etc....
On checkout day from Luxor on Thurs, we can leave at 10am, head over to MC, drop bags in room and hit the pool without any fuss! :):)

Plan will be to stay in the sun ALL day, so yeah, will be looking for that spot around 11am everyday! :)

Cool - (from memory), if you're going to be hitting the pool at 11am everyday, at least a good 2/3 of it gets the sun and we never failed to get a lounger in the sun whilst we were there (though we were only there for a few midweek days!). Once past noon, I think everywhere that is in the sun, tends to retain it until late afternoon :)

...we also redeemed the bucket of beers and some nacho's from myVegas for there as well, which was well worth it for the points at the time :)

I really do need to checkout the current myVegas rewards set... I have nearly 500k, and have stopped playing it really (just login each day to do the daily spin, and will occasionally hammer it on double XP days) as not sure if we will be going back any time soon :( want to keep my XP alive tho :)

I am level 194 on myVegas, currently have 470k LP's
I started playing again in July and had like 4k LP's (as used 4 rewards worth last year)...
Takes a lot longer to get LP's the higher you are, but I still work on the basis I make around 10000 LP's per week.......

Good info about the Pool, very handy! I guess when it hits Fri/Sat/Sun its gonna get busy around the pool, am sure we'll get a good spot! :D:D

Plan on using a myvegas to get the Monte Carlo Fuel the Duel ($100 drink voucher in the duelling piano bar)..... Should be a good laugh, but I guess nowhere near as good as the Times Square Pianos in NYNY (some might recall my trip report from last year after going to the Piano bar in NYNY  _pale_ ;) )
Although will be going there too !

I am starting to think I am wasting my time playing Myvegas after stuies post.

If I dont use it for rooms (I have just booked the Rio on TR rather than luxor on myvegas) then it looks like it mainly leaves buffets and they dont look like that great a value to me and if I can then only use 1 !! or could I buy 3 at 3 different hotels?

not just different hotels, you could get different dining sessions at the same buffet...so you could get one for breakfast/lunch and another for dinner at the same buffet.

As I understand the limit is on each reward (most are limit of 1 per MyVegas player) - each box you can click on in the rewards memu..I bought a 2-Aria dinner buffet last trip so from what I understand I cannot get that one again - but maybe I've misunderstood that, too :)...but my hubby could...or I could get one of the 1-Aria dinner buffets and he could get one...either or both of us could get an Aria lunch buffet, etc.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

my understanding was that you can not get it again to use within the 30 day timeframe.... although at this rate, we could both be wrong! :D

I know that you can get it if they change the T&C of the redemption (or change the price of it) cos it effectively makes it a new redemption. So if one week you bought a "Aria lunch buffet for 1" for 30k XP, and they change the price the next week to 40k XP, you could buy it again

(that used to be the case anyways) :)

  • Most of the rewards only allow one purchase per person. The only way you could buy the same reward twice is if there is a new batch of rewards that comes out. You may or may not be able to tell if it is a new batch but if the reward disappears and comes back or if the terms of the reward changes, then it is a new reward that you can purchase. Generally, if it lets you purchase then you are good to go

I don't think that's right, mine usually show in about a week or so. Are you sure you used the correct TR number when you did the redemption, and are you logging into that and no points there? Did you receive a confirmation email and then a further email to confirm the transfer? You might need to contact them. I've never had this problem.

I'm happy to say I've transferred out 7000 points since I started late September/early October, and have about 1600 or so sitting just now. I just keep 1000 at all times and transfer out any full thousands. I'm wondering how much we'll have by September. I'm thinking maybe $150 worth each - which is $300 between us. Just need to work out how to spend it. Thinking maybe try Caesar's buffet...maybe some nice drinks somewhere. Any nice pizza places anyone knows of?

My points have now come through at last!

Going to keep collecting for the next few months. How do you go about cashing the points in?

you use your Total Rewards card sort of like a Nectar or Tesco club card card...go to a restaurant or shop (or hotel or box office) and hand your card over with your ID as full or partial payment of whatever you want to use the points for. there are some restaurants where you cannot use them but you can most places within the group.

Are there any sites to get straight discount vouchers on stuff In Vegas rather than messing about with games, not fussed about Hotels as all booked, but eating, shops, attractions, trips/tours etc?

    Cheers
