Thanks all. I really prefer to use Dollar so that we can drop off at TI. Also, I know their policies and they don't do a one way fee between Arizona and Nevada either. So they I prefer to go with what I know.

Rentalcars.com sounds like the best option, I need to see if I can find a lower price for them to match. Also, do they definitely amend if the price goes down? I'm wondering if their cancellation policy would cover that anyway.

I'm a bit wary of booking 7 months out, we normally wait until a bit nearer but that also worries me in case the prices go up. Any thoughts on the best time to book usually?

We have requested and received a reduction before on at least two occasions and I assume it is because you can cancel so they may as well just reduce the price rather than have you cancel and then book again. But we always choose the pay in full option vs deposit so there is no fee to cancel...it at least used to be that on deposit only bookings they kept the deposit if you cancelled, not sure if that has changed.

We almost exclusively use rentalcars.com. We find them very accommodating. They were great when I had to do multiple changes to our booking when my mum died last year. That alone makes me want to try them first every time.

I have amended the price downwards a few times no bother, but as Ferf says I think its only if you pay in full at time of booking.

MY Vegas question.

I gave in and started playing in december, I have about 80000 LP.

We have just booked to go in August (not september as I was thinking) and I can get comped rooms at various places but not for all 13 nights.

We have always wanted to stay in the Pyramid at Luxor but never got around to it, with myvegas a weekday night is only 18000, so it looks like I could get 3 free nights there. If I redeemed now could i book all 3 nights and would that then mean I couldnt get any more rewards as I assume that is classed as 3 rewards?

edit. whats the difference between the comp dates and the comp bonus dates

To follow on from what photome said....I thought you only had 90 days from redeeming a gift,to it having to be used.
We are going in May,and I have enough points to get my offers,but I assume I need to wait until 90 or less from when we are going to redeem the offers.
In other words if photome redeems now for august,won't his gifts expire before he goes ?

I thought you had 90 days to redeem the offer , not use it, if you see what I mean

Have you checked the T&Cs? I don't know specifically about Luxor but usually MyVegas comp rooms are limited to 1 night per person, and the reward can only be used once per trip. So you couldn't use the same reward 3 times for a single trip, even if you have enough LP.

The bonus comp nights cost less LP, but there are fewer available and the dates are very limited. I believe you can stack this with a standard comp night to get 2 nights free if the dates line up though.

I thought people had said before that you could redeem and book hotels further out than the 90 days...possibly shows as well...redeem the reward and book the hotel within 90 days of redemption - but your stay could be further out than that.

I am not sure why this programme is so confusing (to me as much as anyone).

Yes, redemption is when you book the hotel and not when you check in. Dates are currently available through to the end of September, they wouldn't release that far if you couldn't book them now.

But I think the date of use is different and does go on your check in date. Therefore you couldn't book three comp rooms (using different rewards) now, then use another 3 rewards for shows/dining while you're there as your room rewards won't have expired. That's when it starts getting confusing for me.
