    Hi guys,

I was wondering whether anyone has any recommendations for a good spa on the strip? Ideally with reasonably priced treatments. I was loooking at the spa menu at the Qua Spa in Caesar's and it's $180 for a 50 min massage!!

We're going in a couple of weeks and thought a spa day would be a great way to spend an afternoon.

somebody asked this on trip advisor and the spa at Luxor was recommended. they do a treatment 50 minute Swedish massage and 50 minute facial for $185 dollars. if you want it any cheaper your going to have to go off strip I think

Got to disagree....I think double xp is the best time tp play myvegas.
Stands to reason, you are playing twice the points,so you level up quicker.

Although a quick look at this seems to say I'm wrong. :rotfl:

Thanks for the reply. At this moment I have only read a general guide book on SF, and I am not getting a major connection with the place yet. However, I am sure it is a fantastic place. Can I just ask why Fishermans Wharf area?

We spent 3 days in San Fran to and would definitely recommend staying in Fishermans Wharf area. Have a look at the South West USA and the West Coast thread on here. Loads of good info on there, I can't seem to post the link sorry.

That's what I thought to...will have to read the guide and see why that's wrong. :)

we have our Ka tickets and our Aria lunch buffet (both bought on hubby's account)...now working out what to do with mine...Tender is looking like an option - we didn't have a nice steak dinner last trip and while there would be a cost associated with Tender $75 off isn't a bad thing.

The thing with us is we don't like to lock in too many meals as we have a lot of 'favourites' and last trip we kind of felt like we were a bit stuck as we had MyVegas freebies/Groupons to use and not much spare in terms of mealtimes...and we also have a free Silverton buffet each from 2 trips ago...so while we could grab some more buffets on MyVegas we're a bit hesitant to do so.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I stayed in Union square which is only a 15 minute tram ride (or 45 minute walk up and down the steep streets of SF) but if I were to go again i'd definitely stay in the Fishermans Wharf area, as I definitely spent more time there, than anywhere else in SF.

I stayed in Union Sq too, in the Sir Francis Drake, as I was working in a building on California street....
Loved walking past Victoria secrets everyday too :D (and yes, it did mean I had to walk out of my way to do it! :D:D:D:D )

It was 9 years ago when I went, but awesome place! shame I didn't get to see much as worked through the week :(

I am no expert on myVEGAS, in fact I have only been playing for 2 months and I am only on level 125. However, mathematically speaking (when you have time on your side) levelling up is not the answer.

When you hit level 140 and the rate to earn 10 LPs levels out then it is best to really focus on the double xp / levelling up.

Also thanks for the info on SF. Rushing out of the office now, but will read the advice indepth later.

Currently looking at car hire for our September trip, might leave it a while though and see if a better deal comes up.

I'm curious - has anyone found any other good companies to book through lately? I was looking up rentalcars.com (previously carhire 3000). I want to use Dollar, returning to Treasure Island so it's a bit limited. When I looked a while ago Netflights (who I always used) don't do that any more. Bit disappointing.

If anyone has any good ideas for companies to use, please let me know. I just tried Holiday Autos and it was very confusing regarding excess, and I also like to do the platinum all inclusive package and couldn't see that on there.
  • I've no experience with the car hire but Sixt have just opened up at the airport, so don't know of they have any offers, etc.
  • I shall have a countdown to April 1st! Not particularly looking forward to flying virgin but I assume premium economy us a bit better than economy on this route.

Just thought I'd mention that most of the negative reviews I've read for the Virgin Vegas flight have been due to the older style planes. These have all been refurbished now to match the Heathrow fleet. From repeat experiences with both airlines, I'd take Virgin over BA any day. Our next trip will be PE as well, with UC return if the budget stretches to it.
