    • Flights - Back - LV to Heathrow - Definately the hottest and most uncomfortable flight I've been on, despite several people including me asking for better air con (no options overhead either)

We have flown with BA on that route once and for the reason above is why it would take a lot for us to fly with them again.

    The heat was horrendous

He was in London on 29th of June. Is it cheaper to fly to Las Vegas than to go to London?
Those who didn't have tickets just sat on the Common with a picnic and enjoyed the performance anyway.

    Flights in World Traveller
    • Flights with BA - Outward - Glasgow via Gatwick to Vegas - Great seats on row 26, good food too and a great flight but the plane was very cold for most of the Gatwick to LV - We had to use the blankets provided. Overall one of the best flights we've had to Vegas..
    • Flights - Back - LV to Heathrow - Definately the hottest and most uncomfortable flight I've been on, despite several people including me asking for better air con (no options overhead either) We were in seats in row 44, people were complaining it was too cold in the section in front of us. One of the poorest flights, although the heat meant I slept most of the flight. :o

We have done the return flight. I would politely suggest that it isn't the route that is the problem but the class of travel. We used Avios and Amex 2-4-1 and flew in club world, upstairs on the 747. The flight was more than pleasant and the jet lag minimised by being able to lie flat and sleep for most of the journey.

For the vast majority of us who travel cattle class, it is the route and the type of aircraft on the route

Honestly for me the heat was the main issue, we are both "shorties" so extra space isn't really a priority for us. We had friends in the section in front (still cattle;)) and they and a few others were complaining of the cold so I'm assuming both cattle sections share the heating/cooling and they couldn't reduce the heat in case the section in front got colder) The only plus is I slept for 5-6 hours.

I'm afraid Club world is way too expensive for us, maybe World Traveller plus, on the way back if I could upgrade with miles (unlikely though)

Jet lag - even after sleeping on the flight I only slept for 3 hours last night - 2nd night home.:)

20 days to go until we land in Vegas for the 1st time. We are really looking forward to our first visit and hope to see as much as we can. We are going to see Jersey Boys and will go to the Canyon and Fremont Street.

As this is our first visit to the states we just wondered what sort of thing people bring back - l did hear that Yankee candles can be bought cheaply has anyone bought any and if so where did you get them?

I haven't but they are everywhere...looking at their website there is one store but a load of authorised retailers. If you search zip code 89109 you'll see a lot of results.

We bring back a lot of American food/baking stuff...we normally both get some clothes but not loads, I buy shoes as I struggle to find shoes my size here, fabric for quilts/crafts is far cheaper over there...sometimes electronics. Just depends on what we want/need at the time, really.
