You say "for the majority of us" but it doesn't have to be. I have 3 flights booked coming up (not including the one later this month) 2x first class BA 1x vs Upper and all 3 cost me less than an average price of a "cattle class" ticket.
It just takes application and research, if people spent as much time on that as on where to stay/what to do/where to eat then most could have a lie flat bed.
I have not traveled anything less than Clubworld for as long as I can remember and never paid more than £550.
Amex and Tesco are your friend
BTW it is still hot in Clubworld, something that many complain about as BA planes do not have individual overhead controls
I get what you are saying but I hate Tesco with a passion and will do my best not to shop there. I have just got an AMEX card so we will see.
We also fly with different airlines so not sure we can get enough miles/points etc as it often makes sense for us to fly from Norwich rather than London.
Does the fact you are taking multiple long haul flights a year help? we generally only do one a year
It wasnt just hot on the one flight I have taken with BA it was unbearable0 -

Thank you. Re electrical items do they work in the same way at home (don't mean to be dim) l was thinking of getting a mini laptop before going something like the HP Stream 11.Stash Busting Challenge 2016 6/520 -

Shoes from Steve Madden and Nordstrom , clothes from Guess/Marciano,new iThinges Apple Store, Walmart for food stuff, GNC ,and then pick up medical supplies to sell on EBay
Medical supplies?? I was thinking of trying to get to the Walmart store, can you go on the local bus or would this be a cab trip (first timer's :rotfl:)Stash Busting Challenge 2016 6/520 -

USB, Ethernet and memory card sockets should be ok.
Sorry, I don't know whether the standards for wi-fi, Bluetooth and HDMI output to televisions differ between the two countries.
CD and DVD for data files should be ok, but maybe not for videos due to the regions feature.
Check the warranty is world-wide.
Bear in mind that sales tax is always excluded in US shop prices), and you'll have to pay UK import duty if it's over the non-EU limit (unless you want to risk smuggling it in).
IMHO any saving isn't worth the potential hassle but YMMV."Such an enormous country, you realize when you cross it" - Jack Kerouac0 -

there are several locations...we normally go to either
6005 S Eastern Ave Las Vegas, NV 89119
or
4505 W Charleston Blvd Las Vegas, NV 89102
looking at google maps and bus options it looks like both have local buses that stop nearby, though either will take about an hour (I used a mid-strip address as the starting point, may be different depending on where you are staying). Depending on what you might buy a taxi back may be an option and I assume they will phone one for you.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Looks to me like you're just showing off a bit.
I wasn't showing off, I was trying to show that it is possible to go business class without spending money and using miles efficiently.
We were only able to do it by planning our spends in the year on the right credit card to get the right vouchers for the right time.

I am constantly amazed at the amount of deals you (and others) get on food, entertainment and hotels; a bit unfair to accuse me of showing off when I spend my research time on flights.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I've bought Samsung laptop, iPad, Nokia Smartphone, Surface 2 Pro, and a few other bits and pieces.
Items with transformers.
If you're concerned about the power difference, just read the back of the transformer. All the ones I have say something along the lines of variable power 110V/240V to 12V. All you need to do is exchange the lead from the socket to the transformer with a UK one and bob's your uncle.
Items with USB chargers.
Just use them with whatever you have at home. My old Kindle connector works perfectly to charge my iPad and the Nokia phone . Thing with the iPad/iPhone, it tells you if it thinks you're using the wrong connectors. I bought an additional lead for my iPhone to use in the car. It sent me a message telling me it was dodgy. I'm assuming it would do that if it wasn't happy with the mains connector too.
Six years on, nothing wrong with the Samsung laptop apart from it being out of date and a bit slow. I don't expect any problems with any of the others either.
This is only my experience of course, but I hope that it helps.0 -

The buses run every half hour on that route, and they have timetables on the bus stops. $2 each way pp, or get a day pass for $5 pp and use it for other journeys within the 24 hour period.
Thank you we are staying near Ballys so just off the strip but we get a great view. Is this the same bus that you can hop off and on all day and add the evening to see the lights? So much information my head is so full - but we want to get the full experience and not miss anything :j.Stash Busting Challenge 2016 6/520 -

You should have written it differently then. You said that it was the class of travel at fault, not the route. This made me think you meant that economy class customers get what they paid for and, if that was unbearable temperatures, they should just put up with it.0
