Jealous stoneman!... If we had enough holidays left we would've jumped on the BA offer :(

    Have fun!

(didn't you switch your Virgin redemption to December? - presume this has overruled it! :D )
No that's going to be next year now.

Actually had to phone BA to cancel the booking under the 24 hour rule. Did it so quick that I forgot about Tier Points.
So rebooked via AA LHR/JFK/LAS return. Actually less than £2K total and 840 TP's each which sorts next year out nicely. I could have thrown in another stop and made Gold but I didn't want to be greedy.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

hi team, I've set up the 2015 thread so I can start populating it over Christmas!

obviously I'll go through it and update/edit accordingly, but if there's anything you think would be good to add, just let me know :)

I'll probably ask for volunteers to help update the bits I know nothing about:
    - MyVegas / Social Rewards section
    - the car hire section

25th November - 2nd December (8 nights in the Mirage)

    Flights in World Traveller
    • Flights with BA - Outward - Glasgow via Gatwick to Vegas - Great seats on row 26, good food too and a great flight but the plane was very cold for most of the Gatwick to LV - We had to use the blankets provided. Overall one of the best flights we've had to Vegas..
    • Flights - Back - LV to Heathrow - Definately the hottest and most uncomfortable flight I've been on, despite several people including me asking for better air con (no options overhead either) We were in seats in row 44, people were complaining it was too cold in the section in front of us. One of the poorest flights, although the heat meant I slept most of the flight. :o
    Hotel
    • 2nd visit to the Mirage, booked for 8 nights to give us a 6:30 PM late checkout on last day which made a big difference for us, reallygood room on the 20th floor overlooking the volcano and looking up towards Wynn/Encore. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here, we only had 1 pool day for a couple of hours but we could have had 3-4 more days as the waether was around 70 degrees for 5 days.

    Eats
    • Mirage Buffet (2 for 1 courtesy of my 15,000 MyVegas points) Pretty good for breakfast.
    • Mirage Dinner (Courtesy of Mrs McPs 500,000 points) a freebie ;) Excellent buffet, highlight being Best Prime Rib ever and hot crab legs not to mention beer and wine included.
    • Mirage Champagne Brunch (2 for 1 courtesy of MrsMcP) Again, excellent with unlimited champagne or mimosas.
    • Palms Buffet - With unlimited beer/wine - decent seafood buffet prior to Concert in the Palms.
    • Paris Buffet - Lovely surroundings but pretty disappointing, prime rib was really poor as was the lamb.
    • Ellis Island - Thanksgiving 3 course dinner was really good for £12 :) but our next visit we had the King Cut Prime Rib which was poor compared to previous visits, the soup was as good as we remembered but the light beer seems different too.
    • Aria Buffet for lunch (2 for 1 courtesy of my 15,000 MyVegas points) Very good selection, especially italian meats and cheeses, had this on the last afternoon and would recommend for lunch
    Shows
    • Chrissie Hynde at the Palms, bought her new album before we went and it was an excellent show, musically and vocally I was reallt impressed, the only downside was Mrs McP sleeping again and one of the stewards not being too chuffed - nearly got "huckled" :o Thankfully she got a 2nd wind and enjoyed the rest.
    • Stevie Wonder at MGM Arena - Songs in the Key of Life tour - Wonderful from start to finish, such a talented singer and musician, backing singers, string and brass musicians were equally as good. She did stay awake for the whole show which was 2 1/2 hours :)
    • The Temptations at the Orleans - it may seem strange but this was our favourite show, great singers and a great show and even though only 85 minutes long it was long enough, I cant remember smiling so much through a performance.
    Shopping
    • Primarily the visit was for Christmas shopping which covered the Black Friday sales - The highlight for Mrs McP was the 6 handbags in 30 minutes at the FSM, also usual visits to A & Fitch, Hollister, Ross & Marshalls - we has 1KG space in each suitcase on the return journey but that was good enough.
What we did notice was less pornslappers but more beggars on the strip and also an increase in timeshare too especially in Treasure Island.

We are already booked for first week in June 2015 with TC flights direct from Glasgow so no need to think if this was our last visit and this will be trip number 10. Getting pretty tired now so off to bed at midnight and hopefully get the body clock back into sync.

Hi folks looking for a bit of advice.
Ive just booked up for myself and my wife -- 11th may for 7 nights - got a decent deal on flights, Thomas cook direct from Glasgow £600pp.

Just on the lookout for hotels at the moment, it will be my 3rd visit to Vegas so I know my way around. Anyone know of any good deals at PH , Bellagio, Cosmopolitan, or any other suggestions for this period??
I am aware there is a big music festival on at this time called "Rock in Rio" which may suggest why hotel prices seem to be high.

Any help very much appreciated, thanks in advance

I just checked Lowcostusa for your dates and those hotel prices are really high compared to dates in June we are looking at, plenty of time though for them to come down (hopefully).

Best value I can see is the Paris at £570 + resort fee.

Expedia had Flamingo at £63 per night but I realise its not Cosmo/Bellagio.

Rock in Rio is going to be huge. (Allegedly) It's over two weekends. You land at the end of the first and stay through to the end of the second.

If it's high prices now, I'd try to book a refundable deal that you are comfortable with and hope something better comes along.

Thank you for your report...and I am more jealous than you can possibly imagine about this part...I would have loved to see this show. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
