Hi guys ,
Me again so trying to hold my excitement in for our 8th trip on the 23rd December!
We have bought a couple of discount vouchers on group on for restaurants and I am playing my vegas daily. Got 21,000 credits? What's the best sort of thing to use it for?
We are renting a car this year and planning to drive to LA for the day.
We rented one a few years ago and had to pick it up at the airport but found this a bit of a faff having to get taxi there then a shuttle.
Is there any car companies where you can pick up on the strip?
Thanks AM :j:j

Have you been playing MyVegas for long? Just curious as I started playing just over a week ago and have about 21,000 credits, however I'll probably slow down quite a bit but I wouldn't think you would get much for that amount of credits. Maybe you need to keep playing until closer to your trip and then see what points you have.
As for car hire, we usually use Dollar at TI as well, and last couple of trips have used rentalcars.com too. We used to use netflights but they don't seem to offer that location any more.
LA - personally I wouldn't do a one day road trip to LA. Could you consider an overnight. I don't think I could handle driving there and back in a day, but then I don't really like driving for long, especially with jetlag which I tend to have and it gets very tiring if I have to drive in afternoons!0 -
Hi,
Just booked flights to LA with car BA.
I need suggestion of hotels to stay in, middle of the road ones re cost.
Our Plan is:
LA arrive and stay one night then
Vegas 3/4 Nights then
drive to LA one night then
make our way along the PC highway 2 nights then
San Fran 3nights and then back again to fly home from LA.
Any route suggestions etc would be great also and details of discount sites would be lovely.
Also would love a copy of the current Vegas Book they leave in the hotel rooms (would pay postage)...
Thank you so much.

We loved Vegas when we last went, otherwise we like European cities such as Budapest, Prague and Riga. We plan to fly from Scotland via London on BA. Any suggestions?
hi

Which Vegas book is that? I think different hotels have different in-room magazines focusing on their properties...that's my experience, anyway.
You can get a 'free' issue of 24/7 by paying postage:

Thanks photome and vanilla8 - I filed a support claim with myVegas and (as soon as they were in the office due to the time difference!) they sent me an email asking for the reward code and refunded the loyalty points instantly0

We stopped in LA for a couple of nights 2 years ago. We stayed at Culver City 2 nights on arrival, had a holiday in Vegas then a night in Long Beach on the way back.
Long Beach was lovely but a bit out of the way. Very nice to see though. Culver City was very convenient for getting out and about in the car.0 -
I am taking a road trip with my old man next summer and we will stopping in Vegas for one night only (:() on Thursday 4th June, does anyone have a good suggestion on somewhere to stay for just the one night?
I've already stayed at MGM Grand, Tropicana and Monte Carlo, so perhaps somewhere more central or north strip would be good. Don't mind spending a bit as it's just for one night. Somewhere with a good location and lots of good food options and bars etc. nearby - any suggestions?0 -

I recommend Palazzo or Venetian if you want somewhere really nice, or Wynn. I looked up 4th June though and it's not very cheap despite being a Thursday. Cosmopolitan was cheaper and might fit the bill.
Or get playing MyVegas or do Social Rewards and see if you can get enough points for a freebie by then?0
