Guys, need advice.can't remember if I posted this here already and don't know how to search...!

2nd Oct - Ordered flights for 2 to Vegas on Expedia.

Get confirmations through immediately and can add all my passenger information and pick seats. Expedia gave me a ticket number because I couldn't see it with American Airlines.

Spoke to AA and they have me all good to go for 9th November.

No money has gone out of my bank. Expedia said AA take it. AA said Expedia take it.

When will this go out? Surely it leaves the bank before the trip and I would expect normally, sooner than 3 weeks after booking?

Sounds like you're good to go

Put the PNR into checkmytrip just to triple check it's booked.

Indeed. Just add a £19.99 Ryanair flight to DUB and forget to board the flight back to DUB from LHR.

Ady 87 - we too are flying AA in a fortnight and about 4 weeks age I logged onto seating and it let me choose all our 4 flights and I thought that was it.On Monday I thought I would have a little look to see wether it was a full flight and to my horror we had no seat assignment at all and there wasn't much left to choose from.OH rang AA (45 min wait) and she booked us seats ,not very good ones, and he had to pay for the seats on flight to and from Manchester yet when I had booked them on line at no point did it ask me for any payment.
We have always booked with Expedia and monies always have gone straight out of the bank.

Got back yesterday from a great Vegas trip with a visit to family before...it was great to see pebbles and Tony again, we had some good wins after a bit of a slow start and tried a few new things. I never logged onto the tablet and I can't handle doing much more than email and Facebook on my phone so have missed a lot but will catch up and will post a bit about the new things we did this time around.

Alamo worked brilliantly and even though the online check-in document said I needed to go to the counter I didn't, just straight to the lot to grab the car. As others suggested the car was a lot newer than those we have had from Dollar lately (500 miles on the car we had)...only small glitch was they didn't have any intermediates when we arrived and I didn't want a mini van so there was a bit of a wait...but they did give me the next full size car that came in and the wait wasn't more than 10 minutes. Because we almost always pick up the car on our first full day vs at the airport I am not sure when we will use them again but would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone picking up a the airport. Thanks again to photome and pebbles for the suggestion.

    Hi guys ,

Me again so trying to hold my excitement in for our 8th trip on the 23rd December!

We have bought a couple of discount vouchers on group on for restaurants and I am playing my vegas daily. Got 21,000 credits? What's the best sort of thing to use it for?

We are renting a car this year and planning to drive to LA for the day.
We rented one a few years ago and had to pick it up at the airport but found this a bit of a faff having to get taxi there then a shuttle.

Is there any car companies where you can pick up on the strip?

    Thanks AM :j:j

No, if you allow the reward to expire without cancelling, the points are lost

There seems to be no way to refund this reward then. There is no button that offers me that option. What a crock.

While I'm nearly always very enthusiastic about doing a road trip in the USA, that's 270 miles each way, and the thirty miles or so closest to Los Angeles might be either hectic or congested.

Do you have anything specific in the Los Angeles area that you want to see? Because things are so spread out there, it would be worth having a goal IMHO.

Don't let me put you off if you realised the distance. Obviously in mid-winter your range of places to go to on a day trip from Las Vegas are a bit limited.

Most of the hotels have car hire desks...we normally rent from Dollar at TI as we normally do not pick up on arrival...we have used rentalcars.com to book with them but the hours are more limited than the airport and sometimes depending on the search they don't come up as the desk is closed at pickup time. I haven't done much checking on other hotels car hire desks available through UK 3rd parties but there may be others.
