    Got the washing machine on :) and going to head out in the car in a while. No booze for me this evening lol.
    Platinum by chance? Belated happy birthday wishes, but I'm sure you have had a ball.

    If you go this time every year, we may actually meet up next year because we have been invited to attend our friends daughter's 21st celebrations on 10 Sep next year. First thought is that early Sep will be too hot, but I'm sure we will manage to get over it.

    I will be interested in the temps while you are there.

    We do usually come at this time however not sure I can get off work next year as someone else put in for it months ago. Need to wait and see howeverit would be good to meet up if wwe are here at same time as you. Temperatures are higher than you are used to. We loke the sun so we tolerate the heat better maybe. It's in the 90s till the weekend with one day forecast at 100 so far. I hope there's a treadmill in here as I don't want to go outside jogging and I'm doing a 10k early October so need to keep up the jogging while here.

    Will these flights be honoured, or cancelled as a computer error?

    Last night ebookers had flights on TC for £380, but booking direct with TC for the same flight was £700.

    We fly tomorrow morning and my OH looked at the temperatures last night and has changed his mind about going ;o)

    I know I have a lot of questions, but does anyone know if you have to pay extra for the gym at the Venetian? I've looked at a link that is mentioned very early on in this thread and it shows it as covered by the resort fee (for $28 a night, it should be!) but I've also looked at the Oyster site, which says that it's extra. That might be before the resort fee.

    I'm also planning on trying for a complimentary upgrade. Is it a good thing if they offer you a suite at the Palazzo as an upgrade? The rooms are bigger but I'm not sure the hotel is as characterful.

    I think it's open to all but priority to guests. So if there are too many people you could be asked to show your room card.

    That said I have never been asked to show the room key although there are signs on the shuttle saying you can be asked.

    I've used their shuttles a lot very frequent and reliable.

  • I hope all of you who are there now / going soon have a wonderful time with lots of gambling luck! :) I still can't bring myself to do my trip report as it will depress me too much. But I promise, I'll do it soon.

    In the meantime, I am a cross stitcher, so I just ordered the materials to stitch this, to keep me going until we can book the next trip. :)

    We've been when it's that temp before Lesley. Tony likes it hot. One time we were there in late June and it got to 114 F.:eek: We just went to Mount Charleston for the day.

    Okay so need some tips about booking flights.

    I'm going Sunday 2nd November - Sunday 16th but if a good deal meant I did Saturday-Sunday i'd happily do it.

    I've found the following:

    BA - Manchester --> Vegas Direct 09:45am-17:35pm
    Vegas --> Chicago --> Manchester 06:55am-07:45am

    £513

    or

    BA - Manchester --> Vegas Direct 09:45am-17:35pm
    Vegas --> Gatwick --> Manchester 15:40pm-14:10pm

    £543

    Are these as good as I will find with 1 leg direct with BA and is the later departure time on the return leg worth the extra £30?

    The more I look at it, that second journey is back to Gatwick which is practically direct anyway. Just a shame the layover in Gatwick is 3 and a half hours and the flight to Manchester is 25mins!
