Was a bit apprehensive about going alone but I'm going to play poker which was limited on last two trips with my wife.
Staying at the aria this time and have previously stayed at caesars.
Anyone else ever gone solo? Any advice?
Went with the intention of playing the SnG tourneys, but arrived late for the first one at Mirage, so I played the cash game, and made a few hundred fairly quickly and easily. So plan B, cash, played (from memory) Tropicana, Caesars, Flamingo, TI, Mirage, and possible Excalibur or NYNY.
Favourite game was Tropicana (my memory is possibly telling me I played a few SnG there) - friendliest, nicest atmosphere and environment, less smokey - went back a few times. Only downside was shortage of people at the table. Caesars poker room is a real experience.
Try to hook up with other solos, either before eg thru various forums.....its nice to chat to people eg over dinner.illegitimi non carborundum0 -
Also on social rewards have about 50 dollars worth but not staying at Caesars property (staying at Vdara) DO I just go up to total rewards desk and ask to swap the 5000 reward credits for say Mon Ami Gabi voucher/coupon?
This is correct. However if you want to use them at a CET owned restaurant you can just hand over your TR card if you have already had the points validated at the TR desk. No, just hand over your Total Rewards card and ask that they take the credit stored on it as part payment.
Go to any TR desk to get your card if you don't already have one.
This is not correct. Mon Ami Gabi and the Eiffel Tower restaurants are owned by third parties and are not Total Rewards properties. You need to go to the TR desk and get a voucher for the amount of credits you want to use. If you do not use them all they are refunded to your account.0 -
Will I be able to use my social rewards credit at Cheesecake Factory at Caesar's? Thanks0

Doesn't look like it

If you are staying at a CET property you may be able to charge to your room and use your points that way, not sure as I haven't tried it with Cheesecake Factory.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
We are staying at a CET property so might try that if we don't spend it elsewhere. Cheers0

you may also be able to get a voucher in the way Wammer described for Mon Ami Gabi...it's not something we've done but in principle it might be possible.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Call United and tell them.
They will offer you other routings most likely if you ask eg via LAX instead of Washington.
I did phone them, and they did offer a different route. It was via Newark, but would mean leaving home about 2am...and the layover was 5 1/2 hours.....so I declined it.
Out of interest,if our connection is missed, and we have to stay in Washington overnight, does anyone know who foots the bill for taxis and hotel rooms.I have been told the next flight to Vegas would be the following morning,I assumed the airline would have to cover costs.Or is this wishful thinking on my part.
Have only ever missed a connection once, earlier this year to Florida, but we were put on the next flight a couple of hours later in first class. That one worked out fine,I would hope any issues cause by the airline would mean they do whatever necessary to fix them.
Or as I say,am I kidding myself.0 -
Hubby had an email (I didn't) about LCI members having a 2-for-1 discount on High Roller...code is UKREWARDS and looking at their website it's a bit confusing, you go to the promo codes tab, put in the code...then select how many tickets you will pay for and then they give one free for each purchased...rather than you selecting 2 and one of them being free (if you select 2 you will be booking 2 paid for and 2 free, it seems).
Just in case anyone didn't get the email (like me).Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
I've noticed some High Roller deals on either Groupon or Living Social recently (think it was the latter), $20 including a drink. Would that perhaps be cheaper than a 2/1? I think there's also an open bar deal going around. On a 30 minute ride in the pod though might be hard pushed to 'make a profit' from it. :P0

I'm not sure really. I have seen the with a drink deals too but we aren't fussed about the drink (we're happy with free drinks from the cocktail waitress) so haven't done the comparison. Looking back at emails it looks like there was one for $20 daytime/$35 evening on Living Social with one drink...so for 2 would be $40/$70.
With the BOGOF for two it would be $21.95/$36.95 without the drink but including the service fee...so for us the BOGOF would be better by a long way.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
