Anyone noticed how confusing Social Rewards has become the last few days? Convinced I had close to 1000 points to transfer, I kept going on each day and thinking...hmmm not sure if I got yesterday's points etc. Then I've been trying to cash in today and it says I don't have enough. I've now noticed that the page you are on is now included in the total, but also shown in the other dropdown. Bit weird, but you might all know what I mean. I normally look at the total and add the current page total.

Anyway, looks like I need to wait another day or two! That will be me at my $200 target :T Kevin has lost $10 worth while redeeming and they're not replying to his emails to resolve so he's a wee bit behind. Hopefully I'll get another $10 before we go (5 weeks tomorrow!!!), and that will be us with $400 to spend. Think it will be Caesar's buffet, might see if we can get free passes to Voodoo and see if we can buy drinks with points there (anyone know)?

This lists Voodoo Steakhouse...not sure if it's classed as the same thing.

Just had our November flights changed by United Airlines.
We are flying via Dulles Washington, and had a 4 hour ( little bit longer than usual) layover. They have now changed to 90 minutes.....think that's a bit optimistic. We have been through Dulles twice before with them, and managed ok,but with the extra security checks I personally don't think it can be done in 90minutes.....not to happy.

Is anybody else having real (haha) trouble with the myVegas app on the iPad? It keeps being unable to load. It's the final day of the burger-collecting thing today and this happened on the final day of the necklace-collecting thing.

I've taken it out of the iPad's memory, plus restarted the iPad and nothing. We do live out in the sticks so our Internet is pretty atrocious anyway, but I'm online, as you can tell :0/

The Wynn is a great hotel but if you are strugglimg to afford the extra sat night there are different cheaper options.

I havent done any of those other places in December but I do believe they all will be cold and possibility of snow.

Thanks for the help, I'm booking us in a night at the Bellagio for a third of the price. Saturday nights can get a bit expensive!

I am expecting cold - we're off to Canada afterwards to have Christmas with my family for the first time in 10 years :)

Anyone know the best value way to use MyVegas reward points? Only have a few days, and not too interested in shows etc. Just wondered if it was better to look at room rate discount, or food, buffet vouchers, or similar. Should have at least 100,000 by kickoff time, maybe a bit more. Cheers...

The comped and discounted rooms are good if you can get them in enough time to make use of them, and if the available dates work for you of course.

I had my accommodation already booked by the time I discovered MyVegas, so I went for the higher dollar amounts - $100 bar credit at Monte Carlo, $75 Luxor restaurant credit, and $50 dining credit at Monte Carlo. I also picked up 2 x dinner buffets at the MGM.

Is anyone in Vegas right now? My weather app predicts storms Saturday - Monday.

Well I thought there was going to be trouble t'mill. As of October BA are not offering First Class on the Vegas route, we had 2 tickets booked. So I rang up and was offered either to keep the seats but get Clubworld service and 50K avios returned to my account, or a re route so that we could still travel in F.
I opted for the latter and as these are redemption tickets, when I booked them the dates weren't ideal but I had to take what was available. I was allowed to change both the outbound and return to whatever dates I wanted. So now we are going via LAX on the way out and LAX on the return on the new A380.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

We are landing into LAX and driving up to San Francisco and then heading to Vegas. What are peoples opinions on driving to Vegas or is it rather tedious and better off flying to Vegas?

If you drive, then you can go via Yosemite which is one of the most beautiful places on this planet. For example (and this plan could easily be adapted as desired depending on how much time you have, your own personal preferences, etc):
Day 1: Drive from San Francisco to stay overnight in Merced or Mariposa or El Portal or Oakhurst (or if you're in the Bill Gates wealth league and can pre-book many months in advance, accommodation in the park itself).
Day 2: Visit Yosemite Valley (park the car and use the free shuttle bus system to get around). Do some walks, maybe some hikes if you wish (Happy Isles, the Mist Trail to Vernal Falls, Mirror Lake, Yosemite Falls).
Day 3: Visit Glacier Point (wonderful view over the valley and Half Dome) and Mariposa Grove (giant trees).
Day 4: Drive CA120 east through the park over the Tioga Pass stopping at Olmsted Point, Tuolumne Meadows and Tenaya Lake, then US395 south through Owens Valley to stay overnight at Mammoth Lakes, Bishop or Lone Pine.
Day 5: Drive via Death Valley National Park to Las Vegas.

However, it depends on the time of year because in winter the Tioga Pass is closed. You can still visit Yosemite Valley, but then you'd need to get to Las Vegas via Bakersfield which is not as scenic a route.

Here's the official US National Park Service web site for Yosemite:
    http://www.nps.gov/yose/index.htm

You might to plot the route in Google Maps (etc) and have a look for videos of Yosemite on YouTube. There also also a lot of California and West Coast road trip videos on YouTube which cover the Los Angeles > San Francisco > Las Vegas > Los Angeles loop.

  • Has anyone on here ever been to Moorea Beach at Mandalay Bay? Thinking about redeeming some LPs for a ticket. I've read it's free for women, but want to check that. I also wondered if entry includes any seating, or whether you have to always pay for a sunbed at all of the pools, as it's not too clear by looking online.
