Yes. Not our first 50+ day long trip either.

We rarely stay on strip these days, probably only a few days each trip, and we love the fact that we can take our time and really enjoy all Las Vegas has to offer.

    Dublin , Ireland
    Dublin Airport (DUB) Terminal 2
    Stop 1
    14:05
    Philadelphia, Pennsylvania , United States
    Philadelphia Airport (PHL) Terminal A
    Change planes. Layover: 2hr 0min
Flight 2323 Operated by US AIRWAYS

    Is a 2hr layover enough?
I think i'd be stressed that there'd be a delay and I'd have no flight out of PHL for LAS that day.

Are my fears unfounded??? Has anyone flown through PHL?

2 hours should be enough but if it isnt, my guess is there will be other flights that day from Philly to LAS, have you checked

Remember flights from Dublin T2 are pre-cleared for US immigration in Dublin, so that will save an hour at the other end.

does that mean you dont have to go through any border control in Philly.

if so it should be a breeze

It was also MAN T1 we used last week - probably got there around 11am

Last time I flew BA (MAN T3 in April), my airline status got us a free pass to the "express lane" for security. Unfortunately it would've been quicker to go in the normal queue! As with any security check, it just takes one person to hold everyone else up (yes, I'm talking about you "girl with a 500ml bottle of water who is determined to drink every last pennies worth of it before you proceed") - I nearly gave her the £1.20 it would cost to buy another one airside ;)

Hi nvh, I failed to get fast-track passes as apparently there aren't any left. So roughly what kinda timeframe on the security queue did you experience? Cheers!

We did Philly last year (flew AMS to PHL), had about 2hr gap as usual, enough time to grab a philly cheese steak and chill for a bit...
Plane was still delayed before take-off, and then delayed on the tarmac...

I believe it gets treated as an internal flight, so yes.

Heres an article from todays telegraph

Passengers from the north of England and Scotland who transfer through Terminal 2 at Dublin are able to clear US customs in advance so they avoid large queues when they reach their final destination.

interesting - for some reason I thought this was restricted to certain carriers/class of travel or had gone away completely...it could be quite an interesting option particularly due to the savings on flying via Dublin.

Has anyone seen Raiding the Rock Vault at LVH/Westgate/whatever they are now calling it?

I am intrigued by it and noticed recently it gets fantastic reviews and today it's on Living Social.

I was really amazed at the reviews - out of 5.

    Trip Advisor
    Rating: 5 - ‎1,424 reviews

    Yelp
    Rating: 5 - ‎166 reviews

I am old enough and had a classic rock phase at university so I will probably know all the songs...I think my hubby will know enough to enjoy it too (same age but not American and sometimes we are amazed about the songs the other does not know).

I have never been to the theatre but but's less than 1/2 the size of The Colosseum at Caesars so I cannot imagine there really being any bad seats.

And based on the prices on Living Social applying our 'how much could we lose in the casino during the duration of the show' principle it seems quite good value...and says that the prices includes all fees.

    Choose from the following offers:
    • $27 ($59 value) for one Balcony ticket
    • $35 ($70 value) for one Mid-Orchestra ticket
    • $48 ($93 value) for one Orchestra ticket

Having read numerous accounts on trip reports I'm intrigued too, I've never read anything bad about it so I'm planning to go and visit also so thanks for posting the offer. Going at end of October/November so I'll see if my dates are available. :T
