    ENVY steakhouse on livingsocial

$40 for an $80 value, I would buy it if I didnt have enough vouchers

I like it and many others on here also like it

If we didn't already have the Groupon for the Riviera steakhouse you posted we would probably buy this one as we really like ENVY...not sure if we would have two proper steak dinners in one trip...though I am checking with my hubby as he might see no problem with such a plan. :)

Also, we have fallen into the too many vouchers category the last couple of trips..between these sorts of things and MyVegas we seem not to have much left in terms of spur of the moment dining...but it is still tempting.

Question for any of those who have flown to Vegas via Thomas Cook...

I'm flying out on Sunday with Thomas Cook from Manchester. I'm in standard-class, do the seats have plugs for electronics?

    Thanks in advance!

you could check seatguru in case there are different aircraft types in use on that route depending on specifics of your flight (I don't know if that is the case or not, it is on some airlines - AA for example depending on the specific flight the aircraft will be different)

Flying Friday! Although 10 days in LA/San Diego first.

Quick question, flying Edinburgh to Phili (then to San Diego, and Vegas to Phili on the return) with US Airways and just had a look at seats, there's not 4 together available at the moment although check in doesn't open until tomorrow.

What are the chances of others moving etc.?

Do you mean as in a power point? We were in premium class and didn't have any up there, but they did have charge stations at the airport to use if you need to.

And thanks Misty and Ferf! He's a husky akita mix, bit of malamute thrown in from his Dad's side too :)

As for the Shania tickets, they were selling them pretty much every day at the Tix4Tonight booth when we were there. Couldn't tell you the price but I'm sure it was sub $100 for 2 tickets, have a wobbly memory of pleading OH to go "because Shania and it's really cheap"

Less than a week until OH gets paid and we can book our holiday!

if there's two people, wanting steaks and a bottle of wine, then this may be a better deal: http://www.travelzoo.com/local-deals/Las-Vegas/Restaurant/118017/ENVY-The-Steakhouse

(I might be wrong though - had a bit of a late night and my head is yet to start functioning!)

Serendipity 3 on Groupon (https://www.groupon.com/deals/serendipity-3-140) has made me look at their breakfast menu on the basis we are staying 6 nights at Caesars and we have never had breakfast there...we don't seem to do the breakfast thing very often, really and assuming they have the patio open for breakfast it may be a nice option.

    Fried Eggs Benedict
Corn Meal Crusted Fried Poached Eggs, Classic Hollandaise &
Canadian Bacon atop Sausage Gravy & House Made Biscuit

And we have a winner...I cannot believe that I did not know this existed.

Call from CC company querying the Groupon charge coming up shortly!
Agree with all of that :) think we will go for it too as we have never eaten there and it's nice to try somewhere new! :)

Cheers for that info. It's pretty poor tbh, oh well, guess thats what we get for flying Thomas Cook lol. Luckily I've got a usb charger than provides 3 full charges, so I'll bring that with me

Does anyone know with these extra security checks with the device having to turn on. Is that just the case for the outward journey, or do they also check when u get to the states?

I'm not sure that power ports are standard in economy on most airlines - it's not just TC. The new Virgin planes have a USB port on the panel in each seat, I think, never tried charging from it but assume it's possible. Last time we flew AA they had them in some rows - we swapped with two people in the row in front as they really wanted the power ports and we weren't fussed as we have a Power Monkey and a Juice Cube which has always been enough for us.

Re: The US "checking on arrival", that would defeat the purpose of the checks (as you've already been on the plane). However if you are connecting straight though to another flight, they will make you go through Security again though (as they did before this rule came in) and this will cause a re-check of all your items --> including hold luggage which you have to pick up and then drop off in a designated spot for a re-scan

I'm sure there'll be other experiences on these forums more relevant to the US, but having endured Manchester a week ago we found there to be no real consistency between what they were doing and how they did it. I'm sure the official line is concise but the interpretation varies.

In our hand luggage, we had a mixture of the following:
    - Portable USB charger
    - Portable Bluetooth Speaker
    - Hair Straighteners (3-pin)
    - Hair Dryer (3-pin)
    - Laptop

We removed the USB charger and laptop, and I forgot about the speaker and from what the guy said who helps you put things into the boxes "pre-scan", only battery stuff was of interest so the other bits didn't matter.

Sure enough both bags got pulled. One had the straightener, and the other had the hair dryer. Neither battery operated. The bluetooth (battery powered) speaker was of no interest to them at all.

Member of staff who does the re-scan, said they had to pull any electrical devices that are over 25cm had to be pulled. Regardless of battery operated or not.

This did not tally with the reasons for pulling the bag that had the hair-dryer (as it is a small travel one so well under 25cm).

Incidently as a side note, on our return Cyprus airport didn't give a toss about any electrical items at all and were happy for them to be left in the bags!

Overall, we were very lucky as we were there days before this happened --> http://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/travel_news/article-2708223/Holidaymakers-face-nightmare-delays-Manchester-Airport-queues-snake-car-park-council-closes-road-TRIM-THE-GRASS.html

There were no queues at all for us, and all scanners were fully manned (a first from what I recall!!)

we aren't wine drinkers but cocktails are also an option it seems.

Actually if this means exactly what it says

Order $149 worth of food and drinks -- in any combination...

Then could be quite good depending on what a couple might order so would be worth doing the maths.

Doesn't work for our dates but thanks for posting. :)
