The casino atmosphere is much younger at PH and it has been a few years since we stayed there and on our last visit just to the casino it seemed a lot younger/drunker crowd (or is it that we are old?!). Also has Earl of Sandwich...fab sarnies!
I have to say looking at the rooms, Paris seems more up my street while my OH is very keen on PH. Is it that the storage in the basic PH rooms is just what surrounds the tv? That's all we had in NYNY (3 drawers, small wardrobe and a place for luggage)
I agree that PH has more of a party vibe, and that's coming from a 23 year old! But we were kicking it down the family end of the strip most of the time.0 -
I liked PH more than Paris, that's comparing a resort fountain view room at PH to a "P" room at Paris.
Comparing those two I think I would agree with you...standard rooms I would go Paris every time.
PH also has PF Chang's which we end up at at least once a trip...and we like the casino better...and EOS...and straight across to Cosmo.
if the Hollywood Hip rooms weren't so awful (in our opinion) we would stay there again...but we only get comped HH rooms and last time they were not interested in upgrading us until the great goods lift incident when they did move us to a resort room...so too much risk in getting stuck in a HH room when we can get a lot better rooms elsewhere. Sad because I do like the property though I do feel a bit geriatric there sometimes.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
I finally rang Virgin re SeatPlus option for our outward journey as we are in a row of 3 upstairs in the bubble and with me having to sit next to the dreaded stranger thought that it might be an option. It would cost £120 and we would have to give up the seats we have already booked and have new seats reassigned at check in.I would defo have booked this if I could keep our original seats but I didn't like the fact they could put us in a row of 4 and I would still be sat next to someone else!!Thankfully I have prebooked 2seats on their own for the journey home!0

You'll have a great time there. We have stayed there 3 times and have seen lots of groups of young ones, they can't all be wrong!
Vegas is what you make it, besides MGM has a couple of the best clubs in Vegas, so you haven't far to stumble home. 10 minutes from the nearest tower to Hakasan, you don't have to go out in the oppressive heat, what more could you want. You could stay in any hotel on the strip and it might take you longer to get back to your hotel from a decent club.
You will love the rooms, twice the size of anything else you get on the strip unless you book an expensive suite.
This is the post I was looking for!
Spoke with my friend who stayed there last year and he said its great, 10 mins max on the moving walkway to MGM and the strip.
From what I've read tower 1 has a bar and is closest to the walkway to MGM.
Thanks!0 -
tgh, apologies if I'm stating the bleedingly obvious but you can see exactly where all these places are on Google Maps and have a walk round in StreetView mode:

yeh but stoneman does a marathon every day in Vegas and stays at the Platinum;).
Its 10 mins to MGM and then another 20 to the strip:eek:
You will love it as they are great rooms and you are in Vegas, but I think you would love it even more if you were more central0 -
Can i wade in about the £65pppn at Monte Carlo, that makes a double room £130 or $221 a night, you could stay at Wynn or Venetian for less0

dollar dropped today0

Spa at Paris on Groupon...I went there for a massage once on a similar (possibly the same) deal and thought it was a nice place. Not the best but perfectly nice...and since prices in Vegas are a bit crazy and all. Just have to remember that tipping on the full value is mandatory. Does not quite work for our dates or I would be buying one, I think...the vouchers for Strip spas seem to be less common than they were a few years ago.

I have to agree, though I have never stayed there...I sincerely doubt it would be considered a bad choice...but it just seems that for the group there would be better options.
tgh - has your friend stayed at any other properties in Vegas or just Signature?
Ultimately I bet you will have a great time wherever you stay.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
