Many times when I see deals on Groupon or Living Social for shows or buffets they're those that have vouchers in the LVA member reward book...I know it's $37 for the membership but it wouldn't be hard to get that back in freeplay vouchers, etc.

I'm feeling silly now. I've got an LVA membership already, and stupidly bought a Rio buffet deal....and LVA has a Rio buffet 2/1 in it! Doh.

Looks like we'll be doing the Rio buffet twice this trip lol.

I think I better check my LVA book before buying any more. I think we have (more than) enough stuff now!! We are there for 11 nights but might be a struggle to use them all, as we need to get value for our LVA purchase too. Oops.

In the LVA there is a coupon for $10 off Spice Market. I know a lot of folk don't care for it much, but it actually advertises as having veggie options - probably helped along by having a Middle Eastern section, so maybe we'll still like it.

Anyway, if I use the $10 off coupon from LVA. B/fast $19.99, Lunch $21.99, Dinner $30.99. So say it's b/fast at 9.99 plus tax. Can I use Total Rewards points to pay the balance plus tax? Or do you even pay the tax if you use points?

Similarly at Rio using LVA - so if we go for dinner on the 2/1, can we put the charge onto our Total Rewards while using the 2/1? Sounding too good to be true so I just want to check :D

yes you can use TR points to pay any balance after using a voucher at a buffet...and I'm pretty sure that if the buffet is $19.99 and you have a $10 voucher...that's $9.99...pretty sure if you use 999 TR credits to pay the balance then there's no tax to be paid...we have used a $10 off LVA voucher at Paris and PH before and paid the balance with TR credits without any tax being added, I think. I know when you pay in full with TR credits there is no tax...assume that you're still paying 'in full' on the balance after the voucher so still no tax.

    Fee free ATM's
Years ago I used to use my Nationwide card in in Walmart and at an ATM near Harrah's for the best deal, not now though. Been 3 years since I visited Vegas although I have been to WI twice in that time. Just been working out where to go in Vegas, seems "All Point" ATM's are fee free and if you go on their website it shows where they are, mostly 7-11's and CVS and some at the monorail stations. I do have a Halifax c/c so will give them a go hopefully will get $500 a day out of them.
Travel on the 3rd July from Manchester direct, 3 days at Southpoint and then wherever our hats take us.

    Tenth Anniversary
Cheapest ATM is inside Casino Royale at $1 and next is at the top of M&M World at $2. The ones inside casinos are typically $5.99.

I use a Nationwide flex account usually, but on a recent trip to Malta I withdrew cash and thought the fees looked a bit hefty. Like £4 for taking out a few hundred Euros. I was a bit surprised and wondering if I should be looking at other options. Change can be a hassle though.

Last year (October) LVH was doing a no-fee ATM deal if you took out above a certain amount...I wouldn't make a special trip for it but if we're there in the future we'll swing by and check in case they are still doing it or doing it again.

You are spot on Ferf, we used a 25% off coupon for Spice Market buffet and TR credits for the rest, and no tax added. Saying that, it was the only disappointment of our trip. Lukewarm food and poor service (enough to leave without tipping!), even the desserts were dry and tasteless.

Will get my head around doing that trip report soon! Cannot believe it is 3 weeks since we got back! Want to go back so badly, that we have provisionally booked nights over the NY period... Not yet looking at flights, as we have another holiday coming up end August. I hate to say, as it is not Vegas, I am not as excited as I would normally be :(

Nationwide changed their terms a few years ago now.

Have you got a Halifax CC that is a better option
