Hello, can I join please? I learned to crochet at the end of last year and since I finished the course I've yet to finish any project under my own steam
I go to a social one evening a week to make sure I don't just forget how to do it, but it's getting a bit embarrassing to be taking the same thing each week when everyone else is pretty much doing something different each week :rotfl: Hoping posting in here will force me to get my butt in gear...
1) Granny Square cushion - WIP
2) Cowl scarf - did this but it didn't turn out right so want to have another go and actually check the gauge this time :wall:
3) Beanie hat for my friend
4) Turtle for my nephew (hopefully for his 2nd birthday in July)
5) Cabbage Patch Doll hair hat (joke present for my bald friend... his birthday is November so probably better start now if I'm to finish in time :rotfl:)
6-14) TBC
Look forward to seeing all of your updates - I'm off to find the Flickr group now and have a nosey...0 -

love the blanket and the little hat, where do you take/ send you prem makes? ive started taking mine to the local maternity unit to save on postage.
bit of a lazy morning, i had a play with a free site that converts text into cross or backstitch for you so i charted this out and am going to turn it into a wall hanging for 'my' teacher and her class. might do another for DS2s school.
had to over stitch the last row as i did it in green and gold but the green didnt really stand out so the most prominent line was "No one can help you" ive gone over it in a darker green so im happier with it now.
if you click on the image to see the bigger photo then scroll back one youll see what i meanSPC~12 ot 124

nice list Deere (Deere I've just accepted your request to join the flickr group so you should be able to see that now)
good idea Lynnsey, if you ring they'll probably be able to put you in touch with the person best able to deal with knowing what they need. i knitted a selection some things for born asleep as well as prem, the lady i met said she wouldnt want anything other than prem as she was from the neonatal unit but she said she would pass the other bits on to the midwifery team as things like that are needed on the labour ward.
when my brothers little one was in hospital he had a room at one of the ronald mcdonald hotels. they had little baskets of prem things in the rooms that people had knitted and donated they just asked that you put some money in the basket if their was anything you needed. i gave him a few bits to put in their and also to leave on the ward if i made thing the wrong size for my niece while she was there so that others could use it. the nurses were always very grateful.SPC~12 ot 124

everyone's projects are looking really good... not boding well for the stash busting challenge as i now want a die cutting machine, and some crochet hooks so i can have a go at more crafts... hahaha
I WILL not buy more stuff until I have acyually managed to get some of my planned projects made up..
I also have a stack of vintage cups, saucers, and plates for plate stands to make up as well... That should be fun... I need to get a piece of scrap wood to help me drill the holes though, but that will be free... I also need a jewelers peg, but this will be free to when I get round to it...
No actual progress for me, but I do know what the next two will be which will be fun.. can't wait!!!!
