Food spends through Jan are around £90-£100. Other than a milk run that is us for the month.
I found a slightly out of date Aldi bread bix in the cupboard. Going to use the dough hooks on my new kitchen mixer to do the hard work. First attempt at baking bread. Will report back with pictures if all goes well.
Pudding will be crumble using up blackberries that have been in the freezer since last summer, last week's slightly past it apples and a pack of crumble mix that was part of an approved food order about 2 years ago. We have custard powder and gallons of milk, so there'll no doubt be lashings of custard to go with it - viva la weekend! also going to try making some oaty banana bites to use up some sorry looking bananas.
Great food spends, wish we came close to that. Ald* vouchers definitely help though.
Crumble is my favourite! We have some blackberries in the freezer too we should probably think about using up. They are from my mums garden last autumn but unfortunately she has moved. Good job she keeps me in eggs now from a colleague!!
I saw recently someone making bread in a SC, I've never made bread but would love to give it a go.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
February? Already?! How did that happen?
Have started the month by doing the banking. I've applied the principle of 'paying ourselves first', so 2015 project pot,February's food and fuel money have all been siphoned off into separate pots. All direct debits should come out in the next few days leaving a slush fund of about £200 in the current account.
January was a pretty low spend month and February looks to continue in much the same vein (until half term at least). Food spends for the month are £10.31 so far. We'll be shopping from home as much as possible to keep this low throughout the month.
School is still manic, but I've freed myself of a few huge albatrosses from round my neck so I feel marginally less stressed than I did. Half term is tantalising close (10 days and counting), and if I can maintain present productivity levels then I won't feel too guilty about taking the week off. Looking forward to spring cleaning the house (I'm sure the feeling will pass once I actually have the time at my disposal)!know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -

Its good to make sure your looking to the here and now as well as the MFW future, my Mum loved/s Turkey, until their VISA expired on the day they were leaving and long story short as they wouldnt pay they got banned for five years! 2014 mortgage statement is in. Brace thyselves for geeky stat joy....
We OP'd £2956, making it our best OP year yet. We reduced the balance by £6380, meaning our OPs account for a whopping 40% of what we paid off. Those little OPs do all help! LTV is 62.6%.
Our monthly repayment has been recalculated to account for the fact that our balance is in advance by more than £9k. From March, our built in OPs will total £154.96 each month. This should improve further from July on a new mortgage rate.
It is slow progress, but it IS progress and I'm proud of what we've achieved :beer:know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
So you should be, well done :TA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
