Worrying news about the school budget.
I am one of those exhausted folk I think.0 -
TBH I don't think there will be redundancies as our staff : pupil ratio isn't as good as it could be. It is a tactical move by the head as we have an experienced staff who account for a significant chunk of the shool budget. The thinly veiled argument to win hearts and minds will be that they've 'worked hard to avoid compulsory redundancies'.
Class sizes are bad and getting worse year on year. We are oversubscribed for many year groups yet our new build is already too small despite the fact that we're not at the maximum capacity determined by the LEA. A predominantly affluent catchment means we are the lowest funded school in our LEA. Still, doesn't matter that kids sit 3 to a desk so long as we can afford the new coffee machines for the conference room...know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
