Half term has flown by. Have avoided all school work. Artwork up in kitchen and looks lovely. Decluttered some junk. Sold 1 of my gumtree listings and have queries on 2 others.
Spendy day today. Lots of outdoor gear ready or new DofE season and a trip to A cold clime at Easter. Should have bought shares in merino wool and micro fleece!! Also treated myself to a le creuset teapot in teal which truly is a thing of beauty. Makes a lovely cuppa toohave my eye on the mugs, but struggling to rationalise the cost (£28 for 3).
Taking the mothership on an overnighter tomorrow to stay with her sister. Going to visit museum of brands and advertising and portobello rd. Then it is back to reality with a bump. Still, only 25 working days til Easter!know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -

The film gone girl is amazing!!!
Hi Sque and choccielover  I wasn't overly fond of the book TBH. I saw the main twist quite early on (I did the same when I read Sharp Objects). I prefer books that keep me guessing. Currently reading Caitlin Moran's How to be a Woman which is very funny. Might go back and attack the Harry Potter series after that; it is going to be a manic term and I'll need something a bit lighter. Have only read the first 5, so it would be nice to go back to the start and see it through.
Sold some more [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] treasure via Gumtree. Wish all gumtree-ers were so polite and punctual as I guy I met this morning. More funds in the rainy day kitty :j
Had a fab time in London with the mothership. She was blown away by the volume of people on the tubeIt was a funny role reversal (stay close and don't wander off mother, or you'll get lost :rotfl: ) Really enjoyed the hustle and bustle of Portobello Road (sorry if you've now got the song stuck in your head
) and I splurged on some more retro signs for the kitchen.
Today I need to write a meal plan, do the shopping and then get myself organised for next week. Contemplating some [STRIKE]marking procrastination[/STRIKE] batch cooking, as I've exhausted my stock of HM soups and OH is working silly shifts next week. Need a week of easy meals.know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -

never heard of it, what's it about?
still really enjoying Person of interest. On series 2 now. It is a welcome distraction from the marking mountain (if I can actually stay awake long enough to get through an episode). I am well entrenched in the joyous work-mark-sleep if you're lucky cycle
March has been a spendy month with lots of birthdays, Mothers day etc. In the background I'm researching new mortgages and costing various options. Currently in a fix vs tracker dither. Either way, I'll have to sit on it until Easter hols when I can give it my full attention. It is quite exciting to feel like we're on the crux of our OPs making a more substantial dent in the capital balance.
The budgets for the new financial year have been released in school and let's just say they aren't pretty. The head has asked for voluntary redundancies. Seeing exhausted colleagues forced to stay in work because they still have a mortgage makes being mortgage free by my 40s all the more appealing. This remortgage is important tactically for making the money we have already mentally committed to the mortgage each month work as hard as is possible. It offers us the chance to beef up our OPs without HAVING to commit extra cash to the mortgage beast each month.know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0
