Samsung S3 Mini Cracked Screen - Unfit for Purpose
Comments
-
I think there are a lot more than choose to admit who have cracked their screen but just assume it was their fault.
How many people are you expecting to get on here? 10, 100, 1,000, 10,000 all probably perfectly justifiable on the bell curve of 100m sales.
It is your time and effort you will have to put in to this but you need to look in to probability of failure on phones and gadgets and then gauge if there is a problem or not, one thing you can be sure of is the company will tell you there isn't.0 -
Yes and same design frame. Only difference is it is smaller in size.
Do you have a reference to this please?A couple of comics. I like. Keeps me on my toes. I don't recall ever saying that I will be using evidence regarding the Samsung Galaxy S3.
Then why have you started a thread about the S3?
Your case is simple, you need to demonstrate that there is an inherent fault with the S3 Mini. This does not need to be definitive, but persuasive - civil courts go on the balance of probabilities. Evidence about anything other than the S3 Mini will be torn apart by Samsung/ the retailer, they have the technical expertise to show the differences between the two phones.
Note that whilst the initial burden of proof is on the retailer, this will be easily discharged by showing the number of faults reported is relatively tiny. At that point the burden of proof passes to you.0 -

Let's forget numbers for a moment. Are you saying that a mobile phone should not be durable and that consumers should not be able to keep it in their bag/pocket etc unless there is some kind of warning or plastic cover to protect it?
I was totally unaware that these phones were so easily broken. Are consumers expected to pay the repair cost demanded by the mobile phone manufacturers? If they don't then the warranty is void. Hence why you could get charged upto £150 to get a screen repaired.Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -

Numbers are what your case would be built around.
A phone should be durable, but is not designed to have things dropped on it, have keys close to it, and be bashed about - all things which could happen whilst in a bag.0 -

So a mobile phone should not be put anywhere near keys, in your pocket, in a bag, in a let down in your car?? Then in my opinion it isn't fit for purpose.Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -

Okay on the phone to Samsung I was advised that the Galaxy S3 Mini had Gorilla Glass but now having researched it it appears it does not as a reply from another advisor at Samsung says on their websiteSamsung E-Support 8 months ago
Hi Shanka,
No the Galaxy S3 mini uses scratch resistant glass.
Thanks.
I believe this strengthens my argument further. Thoughts??Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -

Thank goodness, you have finally accepted that the S3 and the S3 mini are not the same build!
No, it does not strengthen your argument, but it does reiterate the fact that the S3 is irrelevant to your case. The mini has a lower quality glass because it is a lower quality phone, as reflected in the price.
A mobile phone should not be placed in a bag that contains items that may scratch it unless it has additional protection, something like this.0 -

It only strengthens your case if you can somehow convince them that you were told it had gorilla glass.0 -
If anything it weakens your argument. The toughened gorilla glass is designed to take more of a bashing than just scratch resistant.0
