I have another thread going which details my problem

https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4851330

however I would be grateful if anybody has had a Samsung S3 with a cracked screen - without dropping it or standing on it.

There appears to be an ongoing issue here with a manufacturing flaw and I am trying to get some information together for potential legal action.

I will also be happy in sharing my experiences in helping you also get yours repaired.

  • I have a cracked S3 screen but due to a drop. However I do have ongoing charging issue and tbh, the experience I have had with Samsung has been shocking. There seems to be a lot of similar issues round the S3 (cracked screens, charging issues) and seems to be the most faultiest phone samsung have made. Dont quote me on that lol, but from what I have researched and read its shocking that Samsung are denying the problems.
Finally rebuilding my Credit Record :), HP loan to be paid off Feb 2014 and thats it :j
  • A friend of mine broke 2 screens in quick succession on two successive S3's. One was a drop but the other one broke in his pocket. He also is of the mind that there is a manufacturing defect.

Samsung would not care either way. In addition to no precedent, they have the weight of numbers of global sales to support their contention there is no inferential fault.

S3 global sales were 40m in January and 50m by March which would suggest 80m-100m by now. You are going to need pretty impressive support to back up your claim.
  • You need to decide which phone you have - the S3 Mini is not the same as the S3, and nor is it the same as the Samsung (Galaxy) Mini.

    Why not?

I deal with samsung warranty repairs (mostly tablets and computers, some printers and an occasional TV) on a daily basis and they are no worse than any other manufacturer to deal with. They went through a bit of a tough spot about six months ago but are no problem now.

It hasn't put me off buying OH a samsung tab for xmas

My daughter has a Samsung Galaxy s3 mobile phone that just stopped working in August and we were impressed with the service we received from Samsung. We were told although it was over a year old, it had a full two year warranty. We received a pre-paid jiffy bag the next day to send it to them by recorded delivery and we got the mobile back fairly quickly with a full screen replacement (had a small mark on the screen which was gone) and they had updated it to the latest software according to DD.

One issue i wonder about with the S4, Bending over when its in my pocket. Curious as to how much pressure it puts on the phone.

I wonder how far away they are from the flexible screens?

I would like those who have experienced problems with their phone to list them here.

I think there are a lot more than choose to admit who have cracked their screen but just assume it was their fault.

If it wasn't for a small group of us who started claiming about bank charges a number of years back and took cases to appeal (yes I spent many days in appeal courts) then the banks would still have their say on what charges they apply to accounts.

These phones are not durable enough and should come with added protection as standard and pre worn customers of the issue.
