Lovely to see you again DDFW :)

I am very envious of your nearly decluttered house, and looks like you've been doing really well with the financials :T

It is lovely to see you all again - thank you for popping in jwil, Cheery and SF :D and i will be hoping to pop into your diaries next week :D I just don't have time today and aim to have the computer off before my Mr arrives home from work which will be quite soon. i am looking forward to catching up with you all and seeing what you are all up to :)

So this evening i have finished sorting the study bag and then went on to organise my work bag and my hand bag so all good and cleared out now :T

I've painted my toe nails and fingernails - a rather fab coral colour :T

I've also written up the descriptions for all the items i lifted out to sell yesterday ready for photo's and listing :T

So that is good that its another job done.

All the items i lifted out will be leaving the house as will the falling apart shoes i wear to commute as they got binned when i got home from work. Replacement pair lifted out of the wardrobe and i am enjoying using what i have :)

On that note - i *was* feeling a wee bit glum about having to wear the same dress to go out in for the 3rd time in a row. A quick rummage in the wardrobe & i wriggled myself into another dress and it fastens :T:T Yeah! i had bought this a few months ago in the sale for my hols but due to being ill have gained weight back again :( But today i felt maybe just slim enough :) So a lovely new dress to wear and i haven't spent the money on it right now so feels good to be able to use what i have :)

Thank you jwil - i can truly say i really just started to look at things in a different light and what i had previously taken as a 'given' that it would stay i questioned. Loads really did leave the house :T i am hoping it will sell for an ok amount at the carbooty *fingers crossed* My Mr wanted to keep more things than me though otherwise more stuff would have left the house  It really does look loads better and, i am hoping, will be easier when the work that needs doing is finally done - simply as there is less stuff everywhere :)

With the financials hon are you looking at my sig? i had to re-read in case i posted anything yesterday but i haven't actually updated my sig since last year and i really need to :o

Truth be told i am back here because of what i mentioned yesterday - the better future i believe we can have once we get the mortgage paid off. I have overpaid this year but i have stoozed and have balances to clear. Work has been very tough and i feel i may not stooze next year, or as much as i have done, until i have a new job. I guess i just want a clean slate again with everything - having had the debt it is a bit of an adjustment to make to have balances again and i think with work pressures as well as some difficult news it would be easier not to be juggling these things. But it is what it is. So i am working to clear the cards sooner than the end dates - worth it just to have the head space at the moment with things going on. I'm also aiming to keep up with overpaying the mortgage - payment to be made on monday from June and July - that is how lax i have been that i have not paid Junes amount yet :o

I guess then i should get an up to date balance on Monday and pop on a total of overpayments this year - nudge me if i forget :)

The other thing with the cards is they will go against me on a remortgage - i know i can't remortgage now anyway but next year i may dip my toe in the water and contact a broker - at least then i may have more of a clear cut answer on the financial position i need to be in to get off this high interest rate :(

Enough ramblings from me - as you all know i am happy to listen to any advice or suggestions so i'd love to hear any money making / saving ideas you have.

One i did today, which i assume we all do so i never post about it, was decant the cheap - (50p 500ml) liquid soap into the nice looking soap dispensers :) the soap is really nice to use too and i can see the difference in the savings :D

Hi, DDFW! I've just got back from a week's holiday, what a nice surprise to see you :) and you're on the decluttering again, wow! I've been selling a few books and whatnot that have gone for *proper* prices, which has helped a lot - it does feel good, doesn't it! Hope you're having a nice weekend.

I didn't get on at the weekend as we had an impromptu weekend away :j We had a glorious time and (my) spends came in under budget so that is good too. But.. the weekend away left me time poor and some spending happened which i'll check in with. I would say i need to be more organised but by the time we got back Sunday i'd just finished unpacking and got the load of washing on as i hadn't been able to do this with us going away and family turned up and unexpectedly stopped until the evening. We had a great chat and a few drinks  and many a laugh :D Tea was hurriedly made after they'd left and i had only got enough for tea and no extras and no time to prepare anything else. This morning i cobbled together the odds and ends of things but i'd eaten everything by 11 am and was so hungry

£2.45 salad - chocolate would have been cheaper
    £12 top
£1.97 popped to shops after work for foodstuff for lunches for the next couple of days but what i got will easily go with things at home to give me a weeks worth of lunches  I also got a voucher for a freebie of something i usually buy so that will save me about 80p when i use it :T

So those are my spends for today. The top i have considered for a week or so and tried it on and it is really lovely - just a nice summer top and less than half price in the sale. Now though i need to add an extra item onto my declutter list to free up space and money to cover the purchase ;) although i will consider it for pretty much the full month before the returns date runs out  I do really like it but i am, of course, trying to save money.

I posted bay of e parcels today too - except for 1 that still has not paid - i haven't included that spend though as the buyers pay that

hit post as got distracted doing other things and didn't want to lose it :o

I've spent this evening catching up on the house jobs that didn't get done at the weekend.

I also listed everything on the bay of e that i sorted out last week - tomorrow i will try and find more things to sell.

I also haven't made my mortgage overpayment as they had closed by the time i got home from work so i will do that tomorrow. Its going to leave things tight but its important i keep up with the payments to put us in a better place for the future. I did broach the subject of my Mr helping to overpay but it does not interest him at all.

I paid the monthly amount to 1 of my credit cards that i used to stooze.

Tea this evening was 2 reduced items so total cost was about 50p :T - i say about as used a part bag of a reduced item so this is the rough calculation :)

Other moneysaving things i did today was to put coffee, sugar and teabags that i took from the room into their containers

Walked to the station and back instead of driving.

i think that was it for today - other than finding 5p :rotfl:

Well done on finding 5p! :money: and an impromptu weekend away - how fab! :j :j

As for refilling the soap dispensers with cheap soap :rotfl: We function pretty much entirely on home made soap in this house now, don't you know ;):D Currently 'testing' my latest batch of liquid stuff - it ain't perfect but it washes so it'll do til it runs out (which might not be til about 2017 - I accidentally made rather a lot  :rotfl: ) :D
