Well, paying the mortgage and stoozes back is the most important thing - so i am returning the cardi and the skirt - would have done this already but just not had time - i am not 100% happy with the cardi so am happy to return it and if i had kept these things, along with the top that would be £39 on clothes :eek: :idea: clearly £39 i don't have to fritter - am still thinking about the top which may be returned.. tis an item of beauty mind
Spends yesterday
food shop included birthday present: £80.54 :eek::eek::eek:
Spends today
Special occasion work lunch £6.17
Not happy about the food shopping but as i said it included a birthday gift - i've checked the receipt all charged correctly and nothing extra on there. Having bought cake the other day i made sure i didn't get my treat from the supermarket this week - basically i spend £1 or £2 each for me & my Mr for treats most weeks though not if we don't need to - this means we don't go to the local shop for them where they'd cost more. Also, we stay in and watch films instead of going to the cinema so this £1 / £2 each is for cake / popcorn / crisps / sweets those sorts of things and is just nice when we pop a film on & have a little treat to go with it. i don't buy us fizzy drinks very often if i did this would be from this budget too.
I even picked up a 29p reduced item which i had for my tea when i normally spend £3.50 on my favourite quick tea after a long day working and shopping. With the £3.50 there are a couple of small multi buy things we normally use over the following week or so.
Hmm... going to see if i can declutter something to perk me up a bit :rotfl::rotfl:CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
Good work DDFW :j :j Hard decision to return those clothes lass, so well done
You'll get there :kisses3:
Go on then, what did you declutter?0 -
Well done on the overpayment, it's great! It might not seem like a big dent now, but it really does make a difference.
I think I had a rough rule of thumb that every £1 overpaid was worth £2 to the mortgage. So if that's the case, you've saved over £2k in payments! There are calculators out there you can work out how much a payment saves if you are so inclined"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". You are doing well with your overpayments. There is only so much money to go around and you are diligent with budgeting and trying to bring in more income.
I'm still in the first year of my mortgage and a £1k overpayment saves nearly £1.5k in interest which seems astonishing when interest rates are low. It does focus my mind on paying it off as soon as possible. Well, that and finding out my projected pension is a pitiful amount.
Good luck with listing 100 items to sell. Where do you find all of these things?! I want to list a few items this weekend; I was thinking of about 4 things, mainly unwanted gifts. I should be more imaginative with finding things to sell.
Have a great weekend xMortgage, draw down Sept 2014: £222,000
