Hello all
Long time no post although i hadn't quite realised how long it had been. I hope all are well and keeping up with paying off whatever is their target
I have been plodding on and continuing to try and pay down the mortgage but need to keep a better track of spending and goals.
So i am back and firstly will need to write a list of all i am hoping to achieve as i am trying to motivate myself. Although i do not expect it all will be achieved today.
I aim to pop in mostly daily to jot down spends and share any ways i've managed to make savings as well as catch up with everyones news and savings ideas
Things to do:
Declutter 36 items from wardrobe - random self imposed target
List up to allowed amount on the bay of e
Organise bag
Organise study bag
Sort parcels for posting
Prep for sunday - includes food & food for packed lunches
Write out new budget
Write out the order of the money shuffle for after payday
Write out stoozes
Check spare room - any more items to declutter
Check bedroom - any more items to declutter
Check bathroom - any more items to declutter
Check hall, stairs & landing - any more items to declutter
Check living room - any more items to declutter
Check kitchen/diner - any more items to declutter
Check utility - any more items to declutter
correspondence - file or respond to as appropriate
I think that will do for now. Previously i thought i had decluttered but this year has seen me realise how things i thought were permanent actually aren't and as a consequence a huge amount of stuff has left the house which is now heading towards minimalism  :rotfl:
Whoops! Almost forgot - today has been an NSD - packed lunch to work and a thrifty tea of yellow stickered & own label products
Saving money today by walking to the station and home again - i do this most days but it is still a saving
Shoes i use for the commute part of the day have now revealed quite a few holes - fortunately i have a pair in the wardrobe ready to replace them with so that is at least something else out of the house. i should add as they are more of a trainer they are irreparable.
once again i hope all are well xCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -

Hi tattycatch and chocs!
So nice to see some familiar faces in hereand i hope all is well with you?
I have decluttered 10 things from the wardrobe :T It is getting harder to do as i really have parted with so much - but it will make it easier having less things in there
I've also sorted a few bits out for study bag and made a list of the rest of the things i'll need so that is a good start
i may pencil in ebay for sunday as i don't think the light is good enough to get the best pics right now x
Spare room declutter is now complete - there was only 1 item in there that is going and i had been umming and ahhing about it but decision made and it will go :T So good to know everything in there is staying - and what is in there is not very much
Rummaging round to sort my bag i found a couple of bits to go to the carboot pile so seems there may be a few bits in my room to sort out still - imagine they may just be bits as so much big stuff has gone - i surprised myself with my shift in mindset on things :T
Right am going to see if there is more to go from the wardrobe :cool:CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
1 more item lifted out of the wardrobe to try on & decide - my Mr likes it but i have somewhat gone off it - i have worn it plenty for the price paid and as its been well looked after should hopefully sell ok too - i'd just rather wear the things i have more often - although i have been grumbling about wearing the same dress for the last 3 nights out i've had
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: it was either that or buy another dress so mse i think
Anywho's i popped back on to say that all this decluttering / budgeting / overpaying is all towards a better future for us. With the mortgage paid we will have more freedom & choices available to us - especially with work where, at the moment there is the pressure to earn at least what we're earning now - certainly for me as my wage is very lowbut without that pressure i think we would have more of a choice about the hours we work / jobs we'd apply for etc.
So the decluttering is achieving a few things - it is making here a nicer place to live, easier to manage and will hopefully bring in some money to overpay with.
i always followed a budget, but due to various changes that has not been the case recently so i have started to get those figures together - with a budget not only will i know what money is needed for what but i can revisit it to see where any money can be saved
All this streamlining and simplifying though is not happening with my accounts - hence the need for a shuffle list!
Small thing of today as i've gone through the post is a little cheque arrive just £2. and some pence for a product i had bought where you got it for free after giving feedback :T - excellent as the food was very good too
I think i have probably chattered on enough now :rotfl: i am going to do a bit more on the decluttering and then its time for supper
It is nice to be back and pop down on paper what my aims areCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
