If you have a h and m store near you, you can put old clothes-ripped or otherwise, in a bag and recycle them there. They have special bins. Speak to a member of staff just so you get a voucher for £5 off a £30 spend. (I think that's the deal). The bag can either only have a couple of items in or be full. You can use any carrier bag you happen to have.GE 36 *MFD may 2043

Hi thanks all for the info. about clothes - i already use mine for rags if they are the right material and not good enough for anything else. I rescued the ones from the bin (indoors so was clean) and have some old pj bottoms to add to them and donate. I think H&M will be best when i go in the city as all of the charity shops near me advertise for only undamaged clothing
Feel so much better.
Thanks KC - i didn't take a picture as they are ruinedbut i *do* have a pic of me in them

Its been an odd few days / weeks and i am really feeling that i need to find my motivation again  I'm not sure if its the cold dark weather or something else but i really need to push myself and get on and *do* things. I have been quite tired lately so have maybe done too much work and the continual train delays are both stressful and adding time onto my days so that is not helping. I think from 1st December I am going to take things a bit easier on myself on the work front but plan in things to achieve on my days off :T This way i will feel better as i always feel good when i have got a job out of the way - such as the handwashing / the windows etc.
I actually really want to make a bigger effort with decluttering - i think i mentioned before about having a full wardrobe but never having anything to wear? I will start to tackle this from December. In the meantime i am chipping away at it - a pair of leggings has headed off the carboot pile and as i mentioned the pj bottoms to the recycling bagand a dress to the bay of e
Currently i cannot fit all my clothes and shoes in the 1 small wardrobe i have  Of course this makes things untidy and harder to manage. I have wellies for gardening and smaller (not as mucky wellies) for going to the races. I have my running trainers and summer shoes / winter boots / evening shoes as well as footwear for work for both summer and winter - am not allowed in in flip-flops :rotfl: I recently bought shoes that fit :T Very hard for me as i mentioned with my odd sized feet so i need to get rid of some of the older footwear that doesn't fit as well
Hopefully this will clear out a lot of items and make some roon as well as hopefully making me some money too
On the frugal front i have refrained from buying lunches this last few days in work - even though i'm still hungry
I also bought a lot of really good things in the sale - another reason i need to clear my clothes is that alot of things i have are now too big so i bought quite a few bits in the sale - but they are too big as well  In a way it is good though as that will be a refund and what i should really do is go through the wardrobe and i identify what i need
I have also lifted out the ingredients for 3 different meals to cook this week am umming & ahhing about a 4th but not sure i will have the time to do everything - especially as i only have 1 pan of a big enough size to use  Was good to lift out all the ingredients from the freezer though.
I've also cleared out the tinned and dried food stuff in 2 storage areas and given this bag to a family member to help them out and its all stuff my Mr no longer wants to eat so we will not miss it & they will benefit too as it is all things they like too x
Right am going to do some revision and practice my music - i want to do this so it is up to me to prioratise it.
Hope everyone is well xCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
I know exactly what you mean ddfw. It's an odd time of year when outside is gloomy and if inside isn't perfect, you feel a whole lot worse. I honestly felt that things were closing in on me at the weekend. Even now, I am a bit antsy. At least I now know I'm not alone in my madnessMortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 11st 12lb determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
Oh my. DDFW, glad to hear you're going to take more care of yourself.
And SF - thank you! I think I've just found my entree, after all these years, into classical music, and I've never seen anything like that animation, it so completely echoes the music, really beautiful.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hope you find your mojo again soon.
All sounds good with the decluttering, and yay to finding shoes that fit!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
