My toning exercises have resulted in incredibly sore knees
I am sure I was doing them properly but I can hardly walk with the pain and have been hobbling around the last two days.
I think this is what upset my knee so much. Although mine is partly due to weak cartilage I think I made matters worse by not being careful with my exercise. I think I rushed the routine and didn't position myself properly.
Hope your knees feel better soon, mine are ok now. I just rested a little, gave them some extra TLC, heat, massage and high strength Ibruprofen gel.
How lovely to go swimming with your little one. We used to love taking the boys swimming. One of us would play with the boys whilst the other did a few lengths.
I've noticed an odd little sore spot on my nose - had it about a week. It's just a tiny little crater but it looks a bit ominous. I will give it a week and if doesn't clear up I will get it investigated. I've had a few carcinomas as you know so am getting quite good at recognising them more or less as soon as they appear.
Re the exercise clothes I'm still at the joggies and old t-shirt stage too. I look a real sight - I really must get something a bit nicer. TBH most of the ladies in my class aren't too bothered about how they look, no posh lycra outfits in our group.:rotfl: It's all very relaxed.
I usually combine my exercise day with some sort of outing afterwards - either lunch with DS2 and/or shopping. So I tend to go to the class in my joggies and then take something a bit better to change into afterwards.
Teacher - consider yourself kicked.;)
Maddie - hope you had a lovely anniversary. OH and I celebrated our 33rd on 4th February.
Sweetcheeks - welcome back.
Right time for bed, hot milk, leccy blanket, good book - bliss!.0 -
I am hoping that some of you may be able to advise me on fitness clothing. As I have mentioned I am a 14 and quite curvy and since I am exercising in the house and hoping to attend a few classes I would like to invest in some exercise clothing.
I'm a 14 on the bottom half and I wear mostly sporty cropped leggings - usually from M&S cos they wash wear well. I can't use the icons to add link unfortunately but have a look and see the sort of things they have but a nice matching outfit will make you feel good and motivate you I am sure. You might find elsewhere cheaper but beware of flimsier leggings that can go see through when stretched to full capacity.;) I was looking yesterday to get one of the tie-up hemmed t-shirts to wear over a vest-top - but out of stock on the pink one I liked.
Whilst you might be feeling a bit self conscious now and want to cover yourself with baggy tees and joggers, most classes I go to people wear closer fitting tops and leggings, as they are more practical for moving around, especially if your on the floor, doing yoga poses and such like. A baggy t-shirt gets on your nerves, falls over your face when your upside down and exposes more belly and bits that you'd want.
Depending on what sort of classes you're thinking of going to, you can layer it up with a vest top underneath and something more loose over the top that you can take off when you get to the class or flick off as you get into your stride or a bit warmer.
When you get to classes you'll see there are all shapes and sizes, so please don't be afraid of showing your curves.Mortgage

I have some black exercise leggings that I got from TK Maxx. They have a big selection there and I really like these ones as they are made from a nice stretchy material that is quite thick so there's no risk of it turning a little see-through.
Speaking of working out, this week has not been a good week. I lost my gym membership at work (long story) so I've not been able to go in my lunch this week (it's back now so I'll try again next week) and I planned to go Tuesday evening, got too comfy on the sofa and told myself I'd go last night. Of course I got stuck at work so didn't get home until almost midnight. I'm going to try and go tonight but I'm pretty tired. I'm going out tomorrow night though, and am dying my hair at the weekend (which is a weekend long progress!) so I have to try and fit them in when I can. I'm not going to get my three trips in this week it looks like.No more goo hoarding!

Teacher, I will add a kick (in a nice way!) - I'm on day 12 of the 30 Day Shred now, and blimey it's hard work, but I do feel slimmer for doing it. The scales haven't moved yet so I'm thinking of doing a little bootcamp weekend next weekend - I shifted a few lb's doing the Harcombe diet but it took some willpower!!
Rummer, have you tried Primark for exercise gear? I've bought some bits from there and it's been really good, much better than expensive. Not a lot of choice but if you just want black then it's fine.
I'm feeling more fabby thanks to Jillian's DVD and the fake tancan't wait to do my roots and get my hair cut next weekend - it's ponytails all the way till then!
Finally debt free!! March 2018 :j0 -
Feeling rested have had a few days peace looking after a relatives cat. Decided to stay there with DD2 who seems to be on the mend at last. So it's been a ar*ehole free week
unfortunately they are back tomorrow so back to the negativity. Have only spoken to H once all week and all he did was moan. Still it's given me a much needed break and time to study.
On the fabbing front found it much easier to fit things in as nobody in the way.:) Now to try and keep it up at home!Frump to Fab - Solstice Sizzler

Lizzie - pleased that you had a good "working holiday" any chance that you might be able to develop this by word of mouth so that you could get away from ar*ehole more often? If I just happened to have a bit of modelling material and a pin lying around to fashion in the form of a man, should I stick the pin in the nether regions?:D
A bit achey today after my PT session yesterday, but got going eventually, put on the slap and went into town. I have thrown some old eye shadows away and am enjoying using my new M&S ones. I am also trying to give my skin a bit of a winter pampering too. I have gallons of body lotion, mostly rather swish ones, received as gifts, but I never seem to leave myself enough time to use them as I hate putting clothes onto sticky skin. A major plus is that I am waking up earlier in the mornings:)
I am trying to find a way of dealing with the pain in my ankle when I am out walking by "breathing through it", I will have to see if I can find any information on pain management, I want to be able to go out for a walk and enjoy the Spring as it arrives.
Weekend and the new month starting tomorrow, hope everyone gets to enjoy it.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Feeling anything but fabulous having forgot to wash my hands after fussing Killer Cat. So itchy, sore eyes thanks to allergy to certain types of animal fur. My own fault for forgetting to wash but all it takes is one wee rub and then I could scratch my eyes out.
On the plus side I have discovered castor oil is my new miracle cure for my varicose veins :T massaged it into the affected areas and there is visible improvement. All hail the mighty castor oil :j supposed to work on spider veins so have instructed my mum to try some too.
Got up early this morning and did 20 mins yoga in delightful peace and quiet. I love my family but these moments where they are all asleep are truly wonderful. Thinking of settling alarm and making it a daily ritual.....will see how I feel. I do like my sleep and can be a grumpy old mare with too many early starts.
Right off to get some much needed beauty sleep.
Lizzie glad you enjoyed your week and that DD is better
LL hope the sore spot has cleared up xx
Everyone else sounds like lots of great fabbing going on :TI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Good morning all
Beautiful sunshine at the moment, need to get some of that, so will get cracking in a bit and get out there.
Bitsy - interesting about the castor oil for varicose veins - will definitely give it a go. Re the sore spot on my nose - still there - will give it another few days and then make an appt. It's doest seem to be healing and it bleeds intermittently so it's not a good sign.
Not much news here - struggling to try and look glam - just so busy with the renovations and trying to sort out mum and dad's move. I visited prop 2 yesterday - plaster dust and rubble everywhere.
Floor boards up because we've uncovered some rotten joists, fireplaces being unblocked - organised chaos!! On the plus side wiring almost complete and the bathroom is now finished. It it is so glamourous - all limestone tiles, fancy illuminated mirror, designer towel rail. I shall feel like a movie star when I bathe.
I'm planning now my bedroom, bought some lovely new bedlinen and have seen some nice freestanding wardrobes.
I won't have quite as much space as I'm used to so I shall need to have a serious declutter in my wardrobe. I think once summer is here, apart from a couple of favourite coats and a few bits of between season lightweight knitwear which I only bought this year I shall get rid of most of my winter clothes and start afresh next winter. I could also do with culling some of my shoes and bags.
I had a good look in my wardrobe the other day and I just don't wear half of the stuff that's in there - so out it's going. I am going to be ruthless. Same with books, dvds, bric a brac. I'm going to keep the best and jettison the rest.
Time for some serious Life Laundering.;)
I'm aiming to move in with DS2 at the end of April so it's all systems go.
I've also decided to look for another nursing home for OH. His care needs are becoming more and more complex and the nursing home don't seem able to cope. I've had a word with Social Services and they've pointed me in the direction of a couple of Leonard Cheshire Homes.
Strange isn't it - whilst SS were funding they were very unhelpful and wouldn't give me any advice as to which homes would best suit my husband's needs. Now that The NHS have picked up the tab (Continuing Health Care) all of a sudden they are coming up with suggestions and advice for all singing all dancing institutions which are more suited to his needs and which of course cost substantially more……
I ought to be more angry than I am but tbh I just haven't got the energy any more. On the plus side I can now start to look for somewhere nicer for him.
Anyway time for a nice fruit smoothie, a pamper session and then off to see Dad for his birthday, 88 today bless him. OH's birthday tomorrow. Going to get him some more fish and a Dr Who Tardis ornament for the fish tank. Dead tacky but OH will love it.
Have a great weekend.0 -
I don't think it's tacky at all LL as long as it's something that makes OH happy.. Hope you find somewhere more suited to his needs and somewhere that is really nice and caring. The bathroom you've done sounds Devine
I did some fabbing y-day put a little make up on and went for a day out beside the sea down the coast. Money is a little tight but enjoyed a wander about and a chippy for tea. Nice to get out somewhere on a day off...
Washed all my make up brushes y-day too as enormous spot on cheek finally looks like it's going .. I am cleansing and toning well still so that's good- probably helping skin. I think I will go for a facial once it's gone- beauticians does a half price days on wed/thurs so May book up as a treat..it will be about £11 so if I take lunches to work all week then that's a treat I think.
Hope everyone else is doing great fabbing0 -
