Show us the listing where it says covers/manuals included ?

    The listing or a listing.

This listing is very poor but I can find many which are as the should be. Listing would be at your own discretion when doing used...mine personally would detail every little thing.

Wow, some people need to learn to walk away from the Internet sometimes.

    The listing.

If it says no case, only the case is missing. It didn't say disc only. There is no buyers caveat emptor. Covered that bit already ;)

Clearly not the case though is it as it didn't include the inlays either. Inlays are not likely to be taken out a case and so lost case equals lost inlay.

It didn't say inlays included. Just because they mentioned one missing thing doesn't mean they've listed everything that's missing within that.

Sigh.... no wonder the seller didn't bother to reply.

i'm guessing this is the listing

not a lot written really, whether a buyer should have to assume anything is debatable, however the seller has not done a good job of listing and should have just accepted the cancellation to my mind.

I buy and sell in this category a lot and have learned to pretty much ignore the "condition" as it does not really work, "acceptable" only for just missing a manual is nonsense.

reading this listing i'd have assumed that the first 6 came in proper cases with inlays and the last 2 where disc only.

Manuals for all would have been questionable, not everyone thinks about them.

Overall think the buyer has assumed too much and all this talk about SOGA is a bit far fetched really, however the seller has not listed well and should have cut their losses, accepted the cancellation and everyone could have moved on!

If buying something with the intention to sell it for profit then its a business, no matter how small a level.

Intention is to buy all of the games and use all of the games. I would then take an informed retrospective view to then choose to play some or all of the games and move the rest on, if applicable. As they are my personal belongings and intended for personal use, it isn’t under business selling.

If its a private sale you have very little rights under SOGA. You would only be covered if the goods are not 'as described'. It didn't say manual was included so it wasn't misdescribed.

We're not talking about manuals though are we? Inlays; the bit between case and plastic sheathing. Manuals I can give or take personally (unless it’s something special like in GTA) as quite a few are on disc. But as with the wheels and pedal, you only know what’s not there if you know it isn’t.

    Fair enough, sounds acceptable.

I meant inlays - my comment still stands, just substitute 'manual' with 'inlay'.

Thank you Paul. That’s what I wanted. Simple response, to the point, and the correct listing to boot!

Whether my posts in this thread can be seen as trolling or not and whether what I was posting is intentional, it is interesting to see people’s perceptions and interpretations of the rules. I do a bit of buying and selling on eBay, some on classifieds, mainly though low level SE business. This one I knew would get some high horses being mounted. Why? Because it is so petty an issue.

(Just note, I’m not doing this to wind people up, but threads like this are good for people to read to know what people can expect on eBay. Experienced or not, the buyer is being picky (maybe too picky) and has a nauseating right to be because eBay allows them too. However, the seller should have not have given them a chance to be) :)

Regardless, still shouldn’t have relisted them until closed and cancelled!
