Lending libraries usually have some WW cook books in.

  • Well done on your weightloss so far Clare :) :j

As mentioned above the WW cookbooks are great, :j i've never done the diet but i've borrowed a couple of the books from the library and found them to have lots of tasty, family - friendly meals. They also give variations for the recipes to suit your tastes and its all pointed so you know where your working.

I'm sure there was a WW thread in the mega index, might have been SW though  Hmmm! Someone in the know should be able to point you in the right direction!

    Hello!

I am doing WW at the moment in NZ - dont attend meetings though, just track my points and weigh myself at the gym each week - lost 6kg so far in 6 weeks, very impressed!

The aussie/NZ ww community rave about the STGTBT:

(first of all I thought they were talking about 'Sainsburys too good to be true' - language barrier though ;) !

Think I will buy them before I head home, they do sound fab & have details of the nutritional info etc for each recipe which you can easily convert into WW points.

I have a friend coming for tea tomorrow evening but she has just told me that she is joining a slimming club tonight - arrgh! Can anyone suggest what I can do as a main course and pudding that is not too fattening. I had planned on doing a roast dinner and apple pie or crumble with custard/cream but obviously don't think she will want that now. Am really stuck for ideas now.

Find out whic club it is

If it is slimming world she will be fine with the usual chili/ spag bol/ wedges/ roast chicken/ roast dinner ( prob not the gravy) as long as you use frylite instead of oil, or egg and oven chips!

Hot roast chicken, jacket pot, lovely salad, all free on SW anyway

    they are all so different....

She might be on WW in which case I have no clue

It is WW. Suppose I could still do hot roast chicken with jackets and salad - might not be free but she will know I have put some thought into it and so long as I don't put any butteron the table for the potatoes, hopefully it will be OK.

I would go with a roast dinner too - particularly because the elements are cooked separately, and if you serve them that way (i.e. not plated up) your friend can choose the elements that suit her diet needs that day. I would make sure there are plenty of different types of veg so lots to fill a plate.

Depending on the friend - you could always ask her - she may have 'saved' points/syns specially for the meal.

Starter and main course is easier for me personally dietwise than desserts - I'd rather go without dessert than 'fake' something - soup/salad can be very low in calories and also filling.
  • if she is doing weight watchers then a jacket potato, and salad and roast chicken will be healthy and fairly low in points for her as well :D

or even do the roast dinner as she will have 49 points extra to use for the week as well as her daily points so can choose to use some of her weekly points towards it.

i think the dinner isnt going to be a problem for either of you, the pudding may be :)

most fruit is free on weight watchers so what about something like an eton mess type thing?
