Another vote for weightlossresources! Give it a shot. Sign up for the free trial (and it is free - you don't need to put in card details) and you can search thousands of good recipes or make up your own. It is great that you can put in recipes you have made for years and see how they add up in cals.

It is the ideal way to combine weightloss and old style living I think.

I did weight watchers for a while and found it hard to eat in an OS way, most of the foods that are popular are prepacked or processed low fat stuff.

It is up to everyone to find the best way but it is great imo :T

I have done WW and lost some weight with it too, but put it and more back on.I too would recommend weightlossresources. i have lost half a stone so far but love the science of it and the fact that you can earn yourself more calories from everday things. I hate ironing but if I want an extra snack I either iron or walk the poor dog! I pay 8.50 per month as I signed up for the quarter option- its only 7.50 if you pay up front for 6 months. Can you tell I ma really happy with it? I have been costing up my recipes and overall, i think knowing calories is easier when shopping than converting to points.
For anyone trying to lose weight, good luck whatever you use..

Have a look at a WW book, there shoul be some in your library.

I use a lot of these recipes even though im not and never have been on WW, may are very thrifty recipes :D and many of the no pointers have no meat in - so again, cheap.

I rate the mexican bean soup which is effectively a tin of chopped toms, a tin of beans ( i like pinto or cannelini kidney whatever) onions, chilli powder, paprika, veg stock. Bang it all in a pan, simmer then serve. you can blend it too if thats more your thing. really nice and dirt cheap this will make enough for 4 servings!
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

If you sign up to the WW monthly pass, you get free access to E-Source which is the online planning and tracking tool with loads of extra recipes on there. It makes things much easier. I normally do Core/No Count as it seems healthier, but then I get thrown out of whack by eating out or a sandwich! This week then, I am going to stick to Core foods where possible but count the Points (on the online tracker, tells you what's in each portion) to see how it works out.

With every diet on the planet, not just WW but every diet, once you stop it and go back to eating as you did before, or not keeping an eye on what and how much you're eating, of course you will put weight on. Dieting is more than losing weight, it's learning how to keep it off too, which is a lot harder (I speak from vast experience!!)

    Hi

Just to say I recently joined lose weight 14 over on the I wanna board and there are loads of really experienced and helpful dieters on there always willing to help with questions/queries or just to give some encouragement or support.

Also if you look at the very first post there is a link to recipes and many of them are weight watchers.

Good luck with the weight loss thing everyone! I'm not following anything at the moment and have managed to lose weight each week so far by cutting down on portion size, fat, sweet stuff etc etc!

If you're doing WW NC, then go on the community message boards (they're frre).
On the NC board there is a lady called Oldchem who has a website full of recipes, really good, hearty and (mostly) cheap meals.

The great thing is you control your weight loss. You can set it to lose from 0.5 to 2 pounds a week, obviously the more you want to lose the less cals you will be allocated which I think is great.

The meals are entirely up to you, it is not meal plan type thing which is nice cause I hate the one's that tell you to eat grapefruit for breakfast, tuna sandwich for lunch etc. You cannot maintain a strict diet like that! You can eat absolutely anything you want as long as you count everything and any movement counts as exercise, so when I do the cleaning tonight I will count those cals!

Like I said before, there is a free trial so try it out and see if you like it. The only thing is it requires a lot of computer access to log your food etc. but I like that, some may find that an inconvenience.

I wasn't dissing WW, just saying that doing something different is working out I think better for me. I feel that I have better knowledge of foods this way as I don't need to convert to points. (although I did like the concept of free foods) It's good that there are a range of ways to support weight loss IMO.
