I always wanted a Scalextrix set, and some Mecchano. I never got them, as my mum considered them 'boys toys'.

The other thing I wanted was a horse, but looking back, I can understand why :).

I always wanted a puppy wrapped up in a box like in Lady and the Tramp!

I'm now one of those dog bores with a 'dog is for life not just for Christmas' sticker in my car window so I've forgiven my parents. Just.

A barbie house, I don't recall asking for it often enough though, but I still stare at dolls' houses with envy now at 37.

Get a dolls house! They are grown women's 'toys' really. I've seen some amazing ones.

I must have been one of the lucky ones, I got the dairy milk machine and mr frosty, and millennium falcon.

However, I wanted a cabbage patch kid,mum said they were grotesque so I wasn't allowed one and they sold out, but I did manage to find one when I was on holiday in Spain later that year!

P.s chocolate machine a disappointment, but mr frosty was great!

Definitely mr frosty was what I thought of after reading this thread and it's so funny everyone else thinks the same!

I thought about it the other day as there was a post on Facebook about it, and turns out you can still buy him on amazon & the reviews aren't great!my friend had one though and I posted the picture on her timeline and we reminisced over making the drinks!

I wasn't allowed a cabbage patch doll either for the same reason! Definitely the top two I thought of.

I had forgotten about the chocolate dispenser until this post though!

Never got that but I did have a wonderful dolls house my grandad made, and my prized possession my barbie caravan :)
  • Cluedo - I REALLY wanted Cluedo - instead I got Monopoly as the rest of the family wanted that :(

My DOH and DD bought it for me Christmas a couple of years ago :) but wouldn't let me win:rotfl::rotfl:

I wanted some of those shoes (Clarks made them I think) that had animal tracks for pattrens on the soles, and a compass hidden in the heel...think they might have been called "Trackers" or something.....but of course, they were only in boys shoes not for girls:(

No wonder I grew up with a sort of shoe fetish!!

I desperately wanted a pair of the Clarks 'Magic Steps' shoes - the ones with a key in the sole. Unfortunately the didn't make them in a wide fitting and I never got a pair :(
  • When I was 12 i had my heart set on a badge it for christmas. That thing where you can draw stuff onto a circle and it would turn it into a badge. I was given Jenga instead. Still haven't quite forgiven my mother for that one :rotfl:
There is hope for us yet
  • can't believe how many people wanted a mr frosty, really made me smile as it was my first thought too :D the advert for it must have been really good!

I've always wanted a pair of ice skates. I wanted them for Christmas but would have been happy with them for my birthday or at any other time! (White, size 6, please) :-)

    Xmas Saver!
I have many lovely memories of Christmas as a child, but I also remember desperately wanting certain presents that never appeared.
Mine were relatively small, and looking at them now through adult eyes, I wouldn't buy them for my children either.

I wanted one of those machines which you put 2p in and they dispensed a dairy milk miniature, obviously didn't think through the fact that it would have to be refilled. I was also quite taken by those packs of toffee which come with a hammer, I have no idea why just that I wanted one.

I thought I would ask my husband what toy/present he never got was, with the intention of finding one as an extra Christmas gift, but apparently he always got what he wanted .

What is your "missing" present and why did you want it?

I should say great minds think alike - I always wanted one of those 2p diary milk machines never got one.

Also wanted Mr Frosty's slush maker - thou I did get DD one - but it was a waste of money...

I keep asking for tall, dark, handsome, bulging wallet prefered - still waiting! x]
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
