I did but I'm sure it was earlier than 90's!as I would have been too old for it.0

My OH once confided in me that he wanted a ZX Spectrum when he was a kid but his parents weren't able to afford one for him.
Cue 18 months of searching until I found the right model, in the case with all the original bits and unused
Gave it to him last Christmas and he was a very happy wee soul :j0 -
Did any 90s kid ever actually get a Mr Frosty?!

Me. Though I'm an 80's child. I was thrilled with it at the time but I'm sure it wore off fast enough.
Funnily enough I have one of those Dairy Milk money boxes sitting on my kitchen work top as we speak. 13 year old son needed a secret Santa gift for school and admittedly the shop I was in had nowt else but son pulled a face and said it was a bit embarrassing! (Be honest, is it?) so I've gone out and got a selection box today
What he doesn't know is that he's now going to get it for his birthday0 -
I really really wanted roller skates back in the 80's. The boot type, in blue, with a rainbow on the side and yellow wheels. OMG. All my friends had them and I'd have sold my parents and brother to get a pair but it wasn't to be. I think my mother's excuse was that I wouldn't have been safe on them or some nonsense.
I also desperately wanted a Sindy doll and all the gubbins. One of my friends had the Sindy town house with the lift going up the side, I used to love playing at her house! I went on about it so much that my mother thought it would be funny to buy me a Sindy doll for Christmas when I was 17.
Needless to say DD was over-run with Barbie dolls but never really took a great deal of interest unfortunately. She just took the clothes off them and left them around the place in the nude
. She's also had roller skates and roller blades. I don't think there's anything she's really wanted that I've refused point blank (other than on grounds of cost). Other than a tv in her bedroom but she's only mentioned that once or twice.
JxAnd it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end0 -

I had those roller skates and I had Sindy. Another vote for wanting a Mr Frosty (in the late 70's) the girl across the road from my grandad had one so I used to go play with that, if she didn't want to play with the Mr Frosty I would go back over to my Grandads
Funnily enough we had this conversation at work the other day, the present they all wanted and didn't get was Buckaroo, I did get that and it was crap!"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -
A barbie house, I don't recall asking for it often enough though, but I still stare at dolls' houses with envy now at 37.0

I loved all the boy type toys. Lego, model building kits, scelectrics etc. I always remember thinking my brothers presents were better than mine. I used to spend Christmas day champing at the bit to get in about his presents0

Not me but my mum, she wanted a satchel and got a puppy instead.
My Grandma told me my mum was very disappointed and her lip quivered a bit but it all worked out in the end and my mum and the puppy were inseparable, aahhh.Don't wait for your ship to come in, swim out to it.0 -
I always wanted a Scalextrix set, and some Mecchano. I never got them, as my mum considered them 'boys toys'.
The other thing I wanted was a horse, but looking back, I can understand why
. Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j
If all else fails, remember, keep calm and hug a spaniel!0 -
A drum kit, and a woodwork set.
I used to go and play with a boy next-door-but-one to play with his woodwork set, despite not really liking him much. However, he let me play with his set, and hammer as many nails into blocks of wood that I wanted to.
I knew my OH was a keeper when he bought me a toolkit in a case, and a set of chisels. God I love chisels! I was rather good at woodwork classes when I first started senior school, but it wasn't something us girls were encouraged to keep doing.
I understand why my parents didn't want the drum kit in the house - but we had a garage! Anyhoo, I bought my youngest a drum kit when he was 5, and he's getting an electronic kit this Christmas. We also have a large shed for it to go into
I don't think there are many things I've not bought my children that they've had on their lists, and we've always tried to be strict on budget, but that just means we've had to be canny where we shopped/sourced items. There's nothing better than making your children's hopes and dreams come true:santa2:One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0
