Mr frosty, mouse hunt and my dogs got fleas, does anyone else remember that?
  • I always wanted a chemistry set, but my parents thought I'd blow up the house or something and never got me one (I'm now teaching chemistry, maybe it's all their fault?). :)

I desperately wanted a pair of the Clarks 'Magic Steps' shoes - the ones with a key in the sole. Unfortunately the didn't make them in a wide fitting and I never got a pair :(

I remember those. I was told I could have a pair if they did them in my size. I got all excited as the sign said they were available in all sizes. Turns out they weren't available in a narrow fitting :(
  • I always wanted a scooter when I was kid and used to hog the one my best mate had (she preferred her bike anyway).

One year it was a Katy Copycat doll (you set her up at this little desk and she would copy anything you drew) it seemed amazing to me, never got one though. I did write in my news book at school that I and my friend had been playing with our Katy Copycats and got told off for telling lies!! :(

    And now the final frame

  • I wanted a Mr Frosty too!! My partner wanted one along with his sister.

His sister got one last year for Christmas at the age of 31 :)

  • I wanted Meccano. Dad wouldn't share his box (as I was a girl & it was his) and so I went without. (Worrying that my baby sisters might eat it was the excuse. As if I'd have let them near it!)

I got into Lego without my parents, and my Aunt gave me her son's (my irritating cousin's) Hornby for my lads. Coz then married & begat, but I'm hanging onto the railway set.

If it had been an option, I would have sacrificed a sister for a pony. The only issue would have been which.
  • Another vote for Mr Frosty!!

    Mr Frosty!

(I suspect a lot of early 90's kids are in the same boat, as a parent now I know it's plastic tat, but I so badly would have loved that on Christmas morning)

Me too!! My cousin had one and I was really jealous. I finally got to play with one earlier this year when our niece asked for one for her birthday - it is plastic tat but I got to play and I was a child again for an hour!

I also always wanted a scalextric - I'm still waiting! If I ever have children it will be the first present I buy! :rotfl:

I had one of those chocolate machines, except mine took the old pennies which were a bit bigger, I think, than the current 2p piece.

When I was 15, I wanted a drum kit. Actually, I'd been wanting one for a few years, but in my 15th year, I was almost able to persuade my parents to get me one. But they decided it would be too noisy (we lived in a terrace house) so they bought me a bass guitar with an amp! I was sad that I didn't get the drums, but was really pleased with the bass.
