The Christmas present that you never got.

I have many lovely memories of Christmas as a child, but I also remember desperately wanting certain presents that never appeared.
Mine were relatively small, and looking at them now through adult eyes, I wouldn't buy them for my children either.
I wanted one of those machines which you put 2p in and they dispensed a dairy milk miniature, obviously didn't think through the fact that it would have to be refilled. I was also quite taken by those packs of toffee which come with a hammer, I have no idea why just that I wanted one.
I thought I would ask my husband what toy/present he never got was, with the intention of finding one as an extra Christmas gift, but apparently he always got what he wanted .
What is your "missing" present and why did you want it?

A Care Bear and a Wuzzle (sp).
I never really got 'cuddly' type presents and just coveted these as other children had them when I was growing up.
One present I did get that I really wanted was a Barbie. I was given the 'day to night'Barbie and didn't meet anyone else who had one until I moved in with my housemate and that had been the type of Barbie she had too!0 -
Mr Frosty!
(I suspect a lot of early 90's kids are in the same boat, as a parent now I know it's plastic tat, but I so badly would have loved that on Christmas morning)The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
YES. Mr Frosty!!!
In real life it probably would have been really disappointing!0 -
My nephew wanted Mr Frosty for as long as I could remember. I bought him one for his 21st and he made vodka slushies.0

A Millennium Falcon. My Mum said it was a boys' toy.0

I wanted some of those shoes (Clarks made them I think) that had animal tracks for pattrens on the soles, and a compass hidden in the heel...think they might have been called "Trackers" or something.....but of course, they were only in boys shoes not for girls:(
No wonder I grew up with a sort of shoe fetish!!:A Goddess :A0 -
Mousetrap game (my mother said it was plastic trash) and a girls world styling head.
My gifts tended to be more practical things like leather satchels!
I don't have children but probably wouldn't buy these either!NO FARMS = NO FOOD0 -

Another vote for the Mr Frosty! :rotfl: I SO wanted one of those, and one of those dairy milk chocolate dispensers funnily enough!
We all must have looked through the same catalogues when we were kids lol! :rotfl:0 -
I must have been one of the lucky ones, I got the dairy milk machine and mr frosty, and millennium falcon.
However, I wanted a cabbage patch kid,mum said they were grotesque so I wasn't allowed one and they sold out, but I did manage to find one when I was on holiday in Spain later that year!
P.s chocolate machine a disappointment, but mr frosty was great!0 -
Did any 90s kid ever actually get a Mr Frosty?!
