And would the new job give you time to realise the money-making schemes you dangle before us in such a tantalising manner??
I think interviews are also for you to see if you want them too. You are a catch and super valuable, and will not sell yourself easily! They have to earn you.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Thank you, apple and kate. :T You're both so right, instincts count for a lot and usually mine are spot on, I've dodged many a bullet in the past.
I wasn't offered the job in the end - was slightly miffed at the reason they gave but hey ho their loss and thank the gods I didn't have to make a decision about it! :rotfl:And would the new job give you time to realise the money-making schemes you dangle before us in such a tantalising manner??I think it'll still be a goodly while for my money-making schemes to kick into any sort of major action (hope you're willing to stick around a bit :rotfl:), but I do feel all the more determined about them.
All this has definitely help focus my mind on what I want to do. (I did know before, but it's hard not to get sidetracked/question things) I just need to let myself have a proper shot at it I think...
I could do with reducing my hours at work as they're knackering me out, I need to remember that I can actually make back the money in other ways, even if it takes several months to get there (note to self: this is a marathon, not a race!). I think there may be some staff changes at work so I'm going to talk to my managers this week about giving up a day and see what they think...
I've felt so tired this past week, work decisions and family stuff rolling around hence the awolness. It was lovely to go back to see friends and visit some old haunts but the last few days has triggered my old health probs (fatigue mainly) and I've had a few stints of lying on the sofa unable to move (or napping in bed ala this afternoon!). I need to remember that this past week has been unusual and not to freak out because I'm so zapped. Feeling rather more chipper now I've done some ponderating here... think I might do some actual self-employed work/write up a Plan of Action so I feel like that's moving forwards again. :Ta penny picker upper. I was going to write up some other news of the past week, but now I can't remember much of what happened. :rotfl:
Hasn't been a total loss despite tiredness - did some OnePolling, managed to slot in some aerobics when I weirdly had some energy on Friday, sugar intake still going well (despite a naughty icecream the other day, but it was soooo good).
House managing to stay in some sort of order. I need to get in touch with a charity shop and see if they'll come and pick up all these bags I've got, I'm sick of seeing them and I don't think I'll be able to borrow anyone's car anytime soon. Think I'm going to give away stuff I was potentially going to ebay - there's no way I'd make enough money off it to be worth the time suck, when I could have put my energy into something more profitable.
Need to make sure my TSB account is working, see if I can log in and get that going.
Decluttered: not much but 4 bowls, 3 magazines (which were super special ones from my old crafty days but they're ready to go, I think. Going to give them to friends who will enjoy them), two little tins that contained tea (tea now drunk :T stash was lessened until I saw some amazing peach tea while we were away), a water filter jug (I broke it), a glass candle holder.
Oh yes, that's what happened. I spent a whole load of money while we were away. Strange how I forgot that. :rotfl:
Spent just short of £100... and there I was thinking that I wouldn't need to buy anything for quite a while, ha. Mostly went on toiletries and bits that I actually needed though. I bulk bought deodorant (from cheap shop we don't have down here), scored £3.50 extra Boots points from the things I had to buy there (most of the expense was in there, bought some makeup that should last ages and razor blades - in fact I spent the points today to get free olive oil for my ears - the woes of having to wear earplugs every night). Grabbed some cheap pressies in Wilkos, treated myself to some notecards but that all comes out of my stationary fund which still looks very healthy. Bought loads of cards, 10 for £1 sort of things, so that's us stocked up for another year or so. Think I got some sort of deal on everything I bought, feeling chuffed about that!
Oh, good haul at the charity shop today as well - super posh designer jumper (navy and white stripes, with cute rabbits on it) for only £2.99 and then a new with tags bolero from another posh outlet for £4.99. Happy with those purchases. Must remember to get back into charity shopping, I usually I find something good. I used to make a list of things I was on the lookout for so I'd always check for those (ie. black cardigan, top to go with such and such skirt) - need to get back into that habit.

Hope your napping time involved having the tennis or cycling on the box...
And hope your energy levels rise soon. I'm on day 5 of a keto-style way of eating. The fuzzy head has gone and the scales are being kind...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
It certainly did involve tennis :T As will this afternoon - can't wait!
Popping out for a little wander first (shall try and keep my money in my pocket today).
Feeling much more energetic today, thank heavens! Ooh, I've heard of keto but never tried it... very glad to hear your feeling the benefits (I owe you a major catchup, hoping to pop by this afternoon - get the Pimms out?) - I shall investigate for myself as I suffer from major fuzzy headedness (probably obvious from reading through these last few pages
).

Had the most amazing dream that I was touring Hawaii. Very sad to wake up and not find myself there.:(
Moved self-employed things along a fair bit yesterday. :T Etsy shop - plan formulated re: what to list in there. Old stock going up first then lots of new things to follow. I'm opening a new one as I've changed my business name, so I've done the behind the scenes stuff, now ready to plough on with listing. I'll dig out my old stock asap, take new photos and hopefully get that going by the end of this week.
I've made a list of a few things I need to buy to get the business running smoothly, so shall purchase asap (prob this afternoon). Feeling very excited about it all again!
Need to dig out my laptop so I can start creating a wholesale sheet - I'd like to get a few things stocked in shops for Christmas (I'd planned against aiming for this year, but what the hey, might as well).
I need to update my website a bit - add a portfolio and make it look prettier. All easily done, so I'd best get cracking!a penny picker upper. You are getting me all twitchy re etsy! (in a good way, of course!) I've gone a little flat since the fair last weekend and all I've managed to do it cut out 4 mice and stitch a few limbs.
Your plans sound exciting! Enjoy!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Glad to hear it (re etsy)
Doing a fair is so intense, you need some time to recover and regroup and then you'll be raring to go again, believe me
The fact you've been able to make anything at all since last week is seriously good going :T :T

I shifted my focus to what to take away next weekend - dd and I go for up to 12 days, on the train. So small, light, but interesting are the criteria!
In the meantime, I have culled my knitting mags by photocopying the 1 or 2 things I really wanted to keep from them. This also served to remind me of things I have made in the past. So, I have my ideas and my wool. (poss a bit too much wool at the mo - need to be more selective...)Won't even try to take stuffing!
And got both halves of a 'monster' knitted today. Now, it is very cat shaped so do I make it into a lavender cat or go the monster route??? Decisions, decisions!!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Hehe, usually I have no option but to go for the disfigured monster when it comes to such things. :rotfl:
Well done on culling the mags - it's so, so hard to do that with crafty mags when there are so many inspiring articles etc in there. I'm actually thinking of destashing wool (), I adopted loads from friends but I've come to the conclusion that I'm never going to use it...
Hope you enjoy you're trip away - I felt like I'd been away for ages when I came back, so nice to get a break. Was just saying to Mr M earlier that this working malarkey really gets in the way of holidayinga penny picker upper.
