An odd day, felt a bit wiped out from the past week but I paced myself and the day progressively got better. Did some tidying and odd bits of organising (including keeping on top of paper pile) in amongst work.
Getting a bit frustrated at how long it's taking me to do some things at the moment, but the best I can do is plod along and keep things going at an even pace and I'm definitely getting better at that, so trying to look on the bright side and not berate myself for having to take rests more often. It's hard though, I prefer being go! go! go!
*end of March special!*Knitting Natter! Finally picked up my sticks again and reeled off two 'paper' chains (for knitted 'paper chain' garland Christmas present). Ball of wool now seriously depleted, am quite pleased. Although, I confess, I was decluttering some wine while doing it, so they are all a bit wonky but hey ho! They'll look rustic! :rotfl:
:www: MFW Wonderment: didn't manage to have our bacon & egg in english muffins on Sunday morning as Mr M had to head out earlier than expected, so we had them for tea this evening instead, yum! The meals are definitely s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g these days. A few 1Poll surveys.
:coffee: Simple Pleasures: a long email from a friend who I haven't heard from in a while, wine and more wine after a bit of a shaky day, slapping on some lipstick and doing a little dance about the room (just because!)
:heartsmil Burrow Building: taking time out to switch off, chat, and relax with more homey things (like knitting). Feeling a bit more connected and content this evea penny picker upper. Hey! Well done on the knitting! And finding a smilie for it too.
Keep plodding on - every step takes us a bit further on our path. And a month later, we're waaaaaay further on than if we'd just stopped and sat down.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
You couldn't be more right, apple muncher. Now I look back, I've made massive inroads over the past few weeks even though at times it's definitely felt like I've not moved forward much at all. :T
Ooh, maybe I should make a date with myself every month to look back and review things, that might drill some perspective into me.a penny picker upper. Back on track today!
Mr Merle came home with some M&S finds, 3 for £10 meat (which will all stretch to several meals), some bargainous hot cross buns and three super cheap bunches of tulips (think they over ordered for Mother's Day).
Enchilada's whipped up and bulked out with odds and ends from the fridge, second half of chicken set aside for tomorrow... might be curry, not sure yet.
Before I forget, some plans for tomorrow:- Schedule 'Look Back & Gain Perspective' in diary!
- Look for M&S receipt, I want to properly track grocery spends again
- Spend some time writing letters/emails
- Get aerobics going again
:www: MFW Wonderment: worked, looked for more work, 1polled, ruminated about future possibilities if I remain financially savvy = feeling more inspired than ever to crack on!
:coffee: Simple Pleasures: what a beautifully warm day! I sat out on the balcony, basking, with a cup of tea and good book. Must start plotting ways I can work outside when it's warm. Also: red, pink & purple tulips now sitting prettily on my white jug on the coffee table.
:heartsmil Burrow Building: managed to clear two messy hotspots, papers shredded and reclaimed a chair and large area of bedroom in the process. :Ta penny picker upper. :heartsmil Burrow Building: have been reading that mini-missions in simplicity book & feel even more inspired to keep looking at my life & how I spend my time in order to see what could be released and what do I really want in my life. The keyword at the moment seems to be refine; making improvements and then realising I have the space (either literally, or in my head!) to make even more.
P*M have you read the bit about clothes and the 33 items yet? Am definitely trying this as next stage of decluttering!
Have got mine down to 40 as I don't know if more formal suit type stuff will be needed for uni job so am not counting that kind of work stuff in the 33 & I don't want to have to put it on one side just to have to dig it all out again! Ridiculous how beneficial an emptier wardrobe can be to the old mindset but is definitely having an impact!
Doing this now is also great timing for me as aiming for weightloss so don't want to buy new clothes, will wait and see which 33 items I can fit into by the time I've finished!
Ta again for the heads up on the book! XStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Hi, I changed to a capsule wardrobe a few weeks ago and it's made such a difference, everything matches each other (I'm sticking with 3 colours navy/cream/red) plus if you are going away just pack the lot, it's got so addictive I even bought some matching knickers :rotfl:
Well done with the de cluttering pearla, plus can you pop round and start on my house soon , I really can't face itMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
