Another vote for the dress :T.

A few ways - simply highlight the link in the address bar, right click copy and then paste straight on here.

Or type a word such as HERE - then click on the little earth with the paperclip in the box above and paste the link into there. Then the word HERE will look blue like THIS and if you click on it the link will hopefully work.

Ooh, LGP, you've got me on tenterhooks now :D

Thanks for that link, GG :p My good intentions for the day have evaporated and the cheapo petrol station Mother's Day chocolates that I'd hidden from view under a blanket on the sofa are now calling me. :p

bit late chipping in but resolved personal knicker issue by taking the unsuitable ones on hols. Have always hated coming home with a bag full of grungy washing and last year took items that could be worn and thrown. Was just so liberating to take grot from wardrobe and knicker draw and wear and throw and came home with minimal washing :T

Obviously this only works if one is not worried about looking like a sexy glamourous well dressed woman on hols ...but ..as I'm not that at home it didn't bother me at all:rotfl:

I ditched some worn out T-shirts, a very unflattering pair of jeans, a nightdress with holes in, some odd socks, and knickers that did not deserve space in draw! And that was before I found this board ....
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

    Hi Pearla

I've just subscribed to your diary and will catch up on the rest of it eventually! Do you know of many other MFW diaries that aren't actually overpaying yet? I would love to start a diary but can never bring myself to, because we need to save up for a holiday :o, wedding and to renovate the house before I could actually OP anything.

    Hi Janey

I'm paying off some loans from my family so I'm not OPing my actual mortgage at this stage. My diary is here.

Froggy had to sell his house and is now in rented, saving up for a new "lily pad". His diary is here.

Nattypants posts all sorts of entertaining stuff but if she actually OPs anything it only happens quite rarely, I think. Her diary is here, although she seems to be a bit busy and hasn't posted for a week or two.

MFW is a place that welcomes diversity of mortgage journeys. Everyone will be quite happy to support you saving up for your savings targets - it's all part of the journey towards eventual mortgage freedom, even if it isn't along an entirely straight line. :)

    Hope that helps. :)

Thanks Lois! I know this board is very welcoming but for some reason it feels like a really big step to start a diary :o I'm going to give it a go, especially as I'm on holiday so have a bit of spare time at the moment. There - I've said it - now I have to do it!

Off now to have a look at yours and Froggy's diaries. I'm already up to date on natty's diary :rotfl:

I started a diary yesterday...... and I paid my mortgage off a few years ago !

But all the MFW-er's are doing all the same type of things I'm doing in order to prepare for early retirement, and there are a couple of people who are in a similar situation to me.

I think that MFW is also a state of mind, so I think it's OK to have a diary even if you're not actively making overpayments at present.

Although I must admit, I felt a bit shy about starting

I've been enjoying the chat about clothes and the contents of peoples wardrobes. I tend to stick to the same old things, even though I've got lots of things in the wardrobe. I'm sick of my working clothes. As I'm only working two days a week, I just have a couple of pairs of trousers for work, and about six blouses. I've been wearing these for about 4 years now, and as I intend to leave next year, it's not worth getting anything else. I've always kept my working wardrobe separate, so I don't want to use any of my other 'nice' clothes for work.

So I'll just keep on wearing the same boring things, and this time next year I plan to burn them ! :rotfl: Or in reality put them in the textile recycling bin.

I've joined the clothes challenge on the Debt Free Wanabee area of the board. I've undertaken to spend £300 on clothes this year. It is really good for focussing the mind. When I spend my money I now want to make sure it's something really special and exactly what I want.. So far this year I've only spent £4 . But I'm going to Bluewater tomorrow, so this could change!
