Here's hoping you don't need to get to the loo in a hurry apple muncher!

:rotfl: I confess I manged to break the zip on my jeans (yes, that indestructible item of clothing!) yesterday in my desperation for the loo. Fortunately I was at home! So i'm off to the charity shops today to find a new pair. Haven't fessed up in real life tho'.... :rotfl:

I could never do the capsule wardrobe thing, despite liking the idea. Maybe I need to count what I have and just reduce it. Tho I've been applying the 'do I love it and does it make me feel good (and does it fit) rule' and have 9 more items to go.

Everything is uncrossed in real life, but crossed in mseland, for you today pearla. Good luck!

Wow, I have a busy couple of days, come back over here and it's all happening!

;) Excellent news about all the possible job opportunities, both for yourself and Mr. P*M. I too have everything crossed that springtime is bringing better times for you!

:o I enjoyed your essay on the inner workings and wonderment of your wardrobe! You're right, size issues are the major factor - it's the reason why I found it refreshing to do the 33 challenge because I do wear the "same old" because I'm stuck between sizes and don't feel any of my clothes "fit" properly. Totally agree with Newgirlie: tunics are the thing!

    40 pairs of smalls!
I think I know what the issue is though ... what happens to the too big / small / unsuitable / not liked ones? I've accumulated lots just because they're too good / new to throw away and it just seems wasteful to do so if someone else could use them ... but who would that person be?

So, I'm squeamish about putting them into a charity bag as it's a little unseemly. OK, good old cotton ones can be recycled into dusters, but then no-one wants to help with the housework because it means they're flapping a pair of your old smalls, (or-not-so-smalls) over the dressers, bookshelves and dining table (another squeamish moment. So you end up doing all the dusting and polishing yourself until you find yourself answering the door to the post man / meter reader man / courier with a pair of polish / dust-streaked drawers in your hand, all of which is equally uncool.

So, what happens? They stay in the drawer and they start to add up. This my friend, is the reason for 40 pairs, I'm sure!

:D Hope you enjoyed your muppet moment. I've enjoyed plenty this weekend without going anywhere near the cinema! x

Our local tip has a thing for textiles recycling. Usable garments are exported to Africa where people wear them, and stuff that's no good for that is shredded to make stuffing for sofas. Best of all, you do not have to decide what's usable for the Africans and what's only good for shredding. You put it all in the textiles bin and they sort it for you. :)

Love the analysis habiboo. Don't know if it applies to Pearla but it certainly applies to me!

Hellooo! Life's been mad, I'm so behind with everyone's diaries (not that I ever caught up anyway, ahh, can't wait for life to be nice and calm again!)

Thanks for all the good luck :D

Mr M's interview went ok by the sounds of it, but there may be up to three more(!) Will hear if he's got through to the next stage sometime this week. I've got a few worky meetings this week, hope something good pans out from them.

I had the same problem when trying to get clothes together for the capsule wardrobe thing, I want to lose weight (sometimes I'm successful sometimes not :o) so bought some nice quality leggings and smart tunics from ne*t that can be dressed up or down. If I lose weight I can still wear most of it ,oh and a few different scarves to pimp things up a bit :D
:T I'm a leggings and scarves girl too :D (obviously wear a few different items of clothing with them though!)

Oh my word, apple muncher, that made me roar! Hope you found a nice new pair. :)

Hbbb, that is exactly the issue with the knickeroos! :rotfl:

Lois, I always wondered how on earth those textile recycling things worked and worried that decent clothes would just get wasted, but that sounds fab. Will definitely seek out some of those as I do have a bag of 'I don't quite know what to do with this' stuff. :D
:D Hope you enjoyed your muppet moment. I've enjoyed plenty this weekend without going anywhere near the cinema! x
:rotfl: Bless your cotton socks, the one thing the cinema has taught me is that if you spin everything into a catchy show tune then everyone will think you meant it. ;)

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Sooo, this weekend I have mostly been sleeping(!) This Looking For Work malarky is so bloomin' emotional and exhausting.

Friday I had to take a nap by tea time I felt so zapped; Saturday night was a migraine after being out all day, though had a nice jaunt around the countryside, went to the National Memorial Arboretum (emotional! And that's without even knowing anyone in the armed forces) and got some veg and a few bits from Sainsbugs; Sunday was 'oh dear god we'd better clean and tidy up all flipping day' and now here we are on Monday, and I finally feel more human again. Have tried to spend the day being more mindful of how much I'm doing (read: wasting energy with distractions i.e. too much email checking), which seems to have helped.

Sausage risotto this evening, using a couple of sausages from the freezer and ice cube red wine, rather scrummy. Had cottage pie (but with sweet potato mash, surprisingly light and lovely) the other evening with an extra portion that's gone in the freezer, so I'm gradually repopulating the bare drawers again.

Meal plan for the next week done, the aim is to try and get through the rest of the freezer meals over the next two weeks and get using up cupboard stuff again so we can stop tripping over the excess stock. :o

Oh yes, confession time (since I decided to keep it). After all that talk, I ended up buying This Dress the other day. :o Glad to report it doesn't good on the model and suits a fuller figure. ;) I was desperately in need of clothes I could use for work and this fits the bills (will also be able to use it as a day dress, plus fancy events, so think I'll get my money's worth!). Plus is a teeny bit tight so will be fine when I slim down (was considering the size up but it already felt a bit big and would have been unwearable if I lost much weight so erring on the smaller side seemed like the best course of action). I've also been after a 1930s style print tea dress for several years so I feel like I've won all round. :D That should be me almost sorted for the summer though (unless I need more work outfits - very possible, I only had one dressy suit to start with, argh!)

:www: MFW Wonderment: Some serious 1Polling done, 1p into the kittybank, had a quick look at ISAs (shall get onto that properly this week).

:coffee: Simple Pleasures: I had a sparkling raspberry drink the other day that was the same colour of the tulips, it looked so pretty and summery! April showers, a long leisurely hour reading my book and delicious fruit wine. :D

:heartsmil Burrow Building: Think I did very well this weekend holding Mr M's hand as he sorted out his towering papery piles of randomness that were parked up in front of the TV. Also had a lovely time playing a board game, must remember to get back into the habit as we have so many good ones sitting around gathering dust!
