I still can't believe it, I've been pinching myself all day. At one point the website(s) said they were all sold out and I pretty much gave up (read: had to convince myself not to pay £300 for just one ticket), I then checked my email and discovered that the work opportunity I thought I had a good chance at getting has been put on hold by the company, which was pretty gutting, so I was feeling rather miserable indeed then ten minutes later, after realising that tickets kept appearing on the website I somehow got through and managed to nab them! Rollercoaster!
I've only just started to calm down a bit from it all now. :rotfl: Thankfully had a good reaction to whole work situation nonsense, just got back down to searching out new opportunities and have some leads to follow up over the weekend.that not everyone managed to get tickets though. I tried sending out my ticket winning vibes, but apparently to no avail.
Hopefully it all works out and Kate is convinced to do a lot more shows, I really really hope that happens. :happyhear

And onto other news...
:www: MFW Wonderment: as mentioned above, cracked on with drumming up work and feeling surprisingly chipper about everything. Have been really working on staying positive and moving on from things more quickly, it's definitely not easy (am ridiculously emotional), but there's been a marked improvement. :T
Quick & easy freezer tea, we've reacquainted ourselves with the wonders of couscous (so filling when stuffed full of veg, also have a portion leftover for tomorrow) and I munched some of the snack things (erm, cake, oops) lurking in there earlier. Will definitely crack on with healthier eating next week when all these mad external things calm down a bit.
:coffee: Simple Pleasures: not achieved yet... but I'm about to go and have a candlelit bath with some sort of bath bomb!
:heartsmil Burrow Building: have been reading that mini-missions in simplicity book & feel even more inspired to keep looking at my life & how I spend my time in order to see what could be released and what do I really want in my life. The keyword at the moment seems to be refine; making improvements and then realising I have the space (either literally, or in my head!) to make even more.
I read a nice little article in a book I picked up the other day ~ the lady wrote that she wanted to absolutely love everything in her life. She would get up and love the mug she drank from, love the view out her window, love what she decided to wear that day, truly love how she spent her time... I don't know if I'm really conveying her message, but it's an interesting thing to look at, so often you just put up with things or don't really think about them, but when you do you realise you could either change them, and/or that actually there's a lot of pleasure in having a life filled with things and moments that thrill you every time.a penny picker upper. Kinda in a similar vein, I was once advised that where you have something to do, deal with, etc. that you cannot like, it gets easier if you can find reasons to do it well. It then becomes more about what you can protect or achieve by doing it than about the task or situation itself. I know the explanation I got made more sense than what I have just written but hopefully you'll get the idea.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Your comment about the book by the lady who wanted to love evetything in her life has struck a chord. What a great concept! I shall look at the plates, mugs, etc with a fresh approach. Thank you!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

I don't think I even realised until now that looking at things in that way was an option.
I get so overly involved in work, but this is such an incredibly positive way of looking at things, I'm definitely going to be adopting this henceforth. Think I might write it down somewhere so I'll always remember to keep it in minda penny picker upper. Many years ago I incorporated this into my life when I did my big feng shui clearout, but it's so easy for fluff and nonsense to creep in. But then also, there are plenty of things I loved at a certain time, but maybe that time is over? It's kind of nice to realise (when reorientating yourself to that place of 'I'm thrilled this is here!') that things move on and there will always be something new to love, it makes things easier to release (when before I'd easily cling on because I thought I'd already made a concrete decision about something, if that makes sense?!).
Crikey, it's late, am I even making sense? Shall continue on the morrow.a penny picker upper.
