I know the damage drugs can do. Try to understand he can't control the addiction. Unless he gets away from the people he takes them with, he will never quit.

I am so so sorry. I feel every ouce of your pain. My BF sent me to hell and back with them and if he touches them ever again now that we've moved away (8 months ago), that'll be him out on his ear with nowhere to go. He's been perfect during the last 8 months, but it worries me silly that he'll go totally mental again one day. He suddenly has things to live for which has made a massive difference. He said he feels like he's been 'inside' for the last decade. The world carried on, but his life ended in his flat.

It is so easy to get in with the wrong crowd or into certain drugs - not everyone's the stereotypical 'druggie' you see portrayed on Eastenders or the like, my BF was a City worker earning very good money who ended up having a total breakdown. Some of his old 'friends' where we last lived held down decent jobs (one in excess of £100k with salary/bonuses) but totally addicted to cocaine and alcohol (and in complete denial). And some 30-year old woman, a couple with a baby (she took it a couple of times at least while pregnant), several others I knew too - talking !!!!! to everyone coked off their faces.

You have done all you can. I know that utterly helpless feeling, and the betrayal - it absolutely tears you up inside. When you love someone, it's VERY hard to walk away.

    [Hugs.]

No, until he gets drug-free and continues drug-free it is not wrong to exclude him from your life until that time.

I hope that one day this will happen, and going on my past experience of working with such people he will want to make up for the past hurts.

But until that time, if /when it happens you are right to exclude him from the healthy life you are trying to live with your younger child.

You also have a PM from me :)
  • Oh Ziptia, what a terrible thing to happen to you so near to Xmas. I don't blame you for not wanting to see your eldest for a while, especially as his behaviour is effecting your youngest.

As others have said, I have something I could send if you need it? Its a brand new, still in the box Leapfrog LeapsterGS this is the link: http://www.amazon.co.uk/LeapFrog-LeapsterGS-Explorer-Gaming-System/dp/B0084BPZES/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1387367697&sr=8-1&keywords=leapfrog+leapster.

It hasn't been touched. I bought it for my son, who is 2, thinking it was suitable for his age, but its actually for 4-9 year olds! I am more than happy to send this if you want it? Its green so would be suitable for a boy or girl?

I wouldn't blame you for not wanting to speak to or see your son again, but the anger is still raw right now, which is MORE than understandable! Maybe he will realise how badly out of control his addiction has become and make the right steps to taking his life back.

I hope you manage to get something sorted for your youngest and have a lovely Xmas, but let me know if you would like the toy. xx

To the people offering to send things to the OP, its lovely that you have such generous impulses, but please be careful when sending cash or gifts to strangers on the internet who you know nothing about. Please protect yourselves.

I really do hate to sound so cynical, but I can't ignore the fact that the OP's son robbed her on exactly the same date last year too:

Was it only your 8 year old's presents that were taken?
(From previous posts I see that you also have an 11 and 16 year old)
Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end

I am glad you two mentioned something I was trying to think of the right words to do so myself. I also looked backed through previous threads (I have a spare gift myself I have yet to decide where/who to give to) and saw no mention of a 8 year old in previous posts. Of course this does not mean the OP does not have a child of this age.

There must also be another 2.Op said she had 5 children at home.

23 son ( not at home)
20 daughter ( university not at home)

    16 son ( at home)
    11 daughter ( at home)
    8 son ( at home)

I calculate that leaves another 2 at home.

If OP has 5 children at home, it is very possible that one of those is the 8 year old referred to, it is also possible that only these gifts were stolen as I assume they would have been kept together. I don't want to cast complete doubt on the OPs story we do not know the facts.
