:rotfl::rotfl: I have to ask .. Why?
LOL.. he is loopy and sits yowling at me whenever I am in the kitchen.. he has constant food he just does it to drive me crazy.. but every 3 secs.. MIAOW!!! is incredibly annoying.. I usually tell him I'll get my broom and he shuts up for 5 minutes.. but last night that didn't work and I was filling the recycling bag and he yowled once too often so got growled at and a bop on the head.. his response... MIAOW!!! followed by manic purring!!!! Honestly he is insane!!!! His brother likes being patted until he has a coughing fit... they are both quite specialPigpen. ((((Big hugs))))
Sounds like there's no way everyone will be happy. Why not do what you want? If no one else will make a decision you might as well decide and get your own way for a change.
Or ... You work hard all the time, so pull a sickie.. Take baby, knitting and retreat to bed. Let the family sort themselves out.
R
I can't do what I want.. I need to fit in family gatherings, school stuff, time with the perfect parent, shopping, baking (though I might just say fk it to this one given that will probably be a waste of my time like everything else!) Like every other day I fit what I want around them.
I am loathe to give in to KH though tbh.. he had the children 1 extra day over the summer holidays given I had the baby 9th august and couldn't do a thing, not even a day out all holidays.. and just have the 3 girls at any other time.. few days at easter and a few hours for their birthdays. He wants them Christmas day but not any other time.. so I am NOT doing anything he wants.. apparently me having them Christmas day again is 'not fair' .. but is it fair to not have them half of all the holidays or at least the 2 weeks he as off in summer? or to expect me to pick them up from school so he can pick them up at 5:30/6ish and bring them back an hour after bed time???
I gave these the options.
1: presents on Christmas eve here.. go to his in the evening and come back after lunch on Christmas day.
2: same as usual.. go to his Christmas day evening and come back boxing day.. which usually results in him refusing to bring them back, I go to get them and he behaves like a caveman creating a scene in the street!.. last year DD1 came too, just to see him as it was Christmas and he had a go at her making her cry.
3: Just the older ones.. just go for a couple of hours on Christmas day or not at all if they don't want but expect to not get presents.
and no one has any opinion other than 'do we HAVE to go?' from the older 3
My family have had a gathering on the 26th for the last 60 years which now takes place at my house which I am keen to continue.
Option 1 is easiest and fits in best with my requirements. It would mean they were back for the 26th and could help and it means next year I can have them Christmas day and the year after he won't want them because he isn't interested once they get to about 11/12 which the youngest will be by then.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Been away the last three days chasing around in the Fens. Back to the house which is still in serious need of TLC before guests at Christmas.
No time to read the thread (hope everyone is OK), so I'm just going to crack on with the Dining Room... My own list of tasks...
Find somewhere to stash the unfinished Lego temple...
Strip tablecloth for the wash
Hoover-nozzle beams and light fittings - cobwebs!
Wipe fireplace front and window sills (dead flies!)
Sticky mitt all wooden furniture
Wipe the woodwork (doors, skirtings) and the light switches
Wash the windows (inside) and glass doors
Windolene the glass on the dresser, clock and mirror
Hoover the curtains and rails
Hoover behind the radiators
Hoover skirtings and edges
Hoover carpet
Hmm... Better get started, then? Going to do a blitz for 30mins-1hr and see what I can cross off.
Anyone joining me?

Sorry to hear about all the BDs that are around at the moment.
I received this link via my Moodscope emails - it is a World Health Organisation video which caused me to shed quite a few tears when I saw it.
Sending this with love to anyone who needs it, especially at Christmas time, in the hope it might help a little - if the sticks don't.

Hi all
OK, let's have a look what was still outstanding when I logged off yesterday, and see what's on the schedule today - bearing in mind we have Mr LW's pal coming over tonight - and I've foolishly suggested that Mr LW go and pick him up, and I'll drive him home, so that he can partake of Mr LW's cider without risking falling foul of Uncle Nick, so I need to conserve some spoons for this evening.
Tuesday - kitchen and dining room
30 minutes to spare....
15 minutes wiping anything that is grubby Will have a look for something to clean.;) Found some grubby paintwork in the kitchen and cleaned it - it's where it gets rubbed when we switch on the kitchen light.
Got an hour....
HHMe time before we run out of time Unlikely to happen.:( Didn't happen.:(
Extras
Meal plan (noting the above) right up to the 27th if you can Needs doing - need to get Mr LW to sit down with me, as I like to have his input. We currently have a plan up to 22nd. Done - we now have meal plan filled in up to 29th December.:T
Wednesday - Say your prayers today is all Upstairs
I hope you don't expect me to clean the loft - that's the only "upstairs" here!:rotfl:
15 minutes .....
Declutter floors - either put away or into a box or bin bag so at least it's tidy N/A - there is NO clutter on the floors, and all the crates of stores are tidy.
30 minutes to spare....
Hoover/sweep/mop all upstairs I'll put the Dys0n around again this afternoon; there's bound to still be dog hair to pick up.
Clear and wipe the window ledges Already done
Got an hour....
Strip, wash and remake all beds Done on Saturdays, when Mr LW can assist
HH Wrap or HHI N/A - I have neither of these to do.
Dust all dusty bits Duster-onna-stick will be deployed as best I can
Extras
Water your tree - house plants if your tree is artificial! N/A - haven't any house plants, and the tree is artificial
Check any bills that need paying, allow extra time for the bank holidays All up to date; Direct Debits all covered, money earmarked for my Mensa membership (due at end of year), spreadsheets all done to date.:T
Do some baking None needed today.:TRealised I'm going through the poo time of year which is why nothing is getting done. Have decided to just distance myself from people. Im fed up of one sided friendships.Oh gods LW I didn't realise Yule was this Saturday..and I haven't got my log in for this year. Oh darn... Will definately need to get my act together so that we can celebrate then.. Wonder why DH didn't remind me?If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

continued hugs for you, yours and Olliecat Natty, i hope he is as comfortable as possible for as long as possible.
this morning didnt go quite according to plan, mostly wrapping, but then got a phone call that made me scream (in a good way):T:j:T followed by a call to share news with DH, then DD2 rang then work colleague dropped round for a coffee and natter before work. have more wrapping to tackle
pigpen, sorry that christmas is turning into such a nightmare, if the children are old enough to decide they dont want to go surely he cant force them. If he turned up and they refused to go could he actually force them or would the repercussions be too bad next year? I remember being shunted back a forth between my parents at alternate weekends and holidays but as much as they hated each other they never made us go if we didnt want to.
hope you can sort something out so its a happy christmas for all of youSPC~12 ot 124

I won't be making the older 4 go (18, 16, nearly 15 and 13) but I am not splitting them up .. they all get presents together or not at all.. Tiny slept! I went in at 1.30 and she was fast asleep, progress, so I law doen in bed myself having done the ironing.
Thank you lw I have a daily call with one particular friend each morning where we have a natter and a catch up. The last few weeks have become such a strain. I realised I could actually have said the car is on fire and she would have said thats nice, then turned the convo around. Shes not the only one either, I realised the issue I had when I started putting down the phone when I realised I wssnt being heard and pretended there was a bad signal. I wouldnt mind so much just I dont often talk about me and rarely have much to say. Id rather just not talk than know someone will tune out when its my turn.
Makes me make sure I listen to my big one as I always remember my nan saying mmm yes dear as she was distracted lol.
Time to go get big one.0
