I cant believe the amount of cats that go missing and its put me off getting another. I think if I get another in the future the I will get the back garden completley fenced off so it cant get out and wander off or get chased off etc.
I cant go through this again its been awful. I hope yours returns, no further news about mine.
I think these microchips should be developed so that you can log onto the computer and track where your cat is. At the moment when they are gone its just a guessing game regarding whats happened to them.
I've been in your situation before and know how awful it is.
It's not knowing what has happened and imagining all these awful scenarios that is so difficult.
Cats are naturally curious creatures. It is possible your kitty has gone wandering and simply got lost.
Don't give up hope, there are many happy endings where they have turned up days, weeks & months later.
I had flyers printed and posted a pic with details in the local newspaper. Whilst I had many phone calls with possible sightings I never did find out what happened to her.
I hope most sincerely your kitty turns up.0 -
So sorry to see that kitty s still missing - one of mine gone AWOL for about a week once and I was climbing the walls with worry.
Hope kitty comes back home soon.. big hugs xxx0 -
Really sorry to hear that your cat hasn't come home, I was hoping for a Christmas miracle.
Maybe take a little heart from this article in our local paper:
http://www.derbyshiretimes.co.uk/news/grassroots/reunited-after-decade-missing-1-4532583
Basically, a cat who went missing for 10 years - yes, that's right - 10 years - was reunited with his owner after the old woman he was living with died and he was handed to Cat Protection for rehoming.
Thanks to his microchip, he found his way back to his original owner.
That story, from our local weekly newspaper, is a couple of years old but I found it when looking for a more recent story of another cat who escaped during a home move and was also missing for 10 years.
Tigger was returned to his owner thanks to a vet checking for a microchip when he was caught as a stray.
Don't lose hope. :grouphug:
And ditto to bargainhunterkid.

Am still thinking of you dandelionclock and hoping your cat turns up.
Our missing puss turned up late last night at the back door smelling very musty so think he'd definitely been stuck in a shed or garage. Relief doesn't even begin to sum up how we all felt after we'd spent yet another day tearfully trawling the streets, putting out more leaflets and asking in shops so do understand that horrible sick feeling you have dandelionclock.
I hope our story gives you more hope and do let us know when you have some news.0
