Happy saving everyone!Early retired - 18th December 2014

Declaring at £2,246 as of end of march this is total iv managed so far this year. This is along side holiday to Paris, weekend in London and a new bathroom. So doesn't look like in doing that well but with all other expenses into consideration I would say I am! I have got to keep up working at the rate I am going, I am earning decent wages just now. If I keep at this, sticking in, working whole day Saturdays as overtime when I can, I will definitely hit the £12,000 target. We plan to overpay mortgage this year so this challenge will be brilliant to keep me on track so we can do that.
Most of this money is just being kept as emergency fund incase of illness/job loss etc. I am only 22, only once have I had 5 figure in my bank at once and that was when me and oh combined our money for the house deposit!! Really excited to chase savings up into 5 figure again! I'm starting with a t total April and a goal of no more than 3 days at work without packed lunch and no less than 20 no spend days. Going to crack on with work banging in the hours, make some progress with this!!:eek:Living frugally at 24

Ok, payday tomorrow so I can declare savings of £145 for #048 (was supposed to be £200 but had to do some money juggling due to birthdays/Mother's Day etc.). That brings my total to £545 to date, over a third of my way to my target already - hope this can continue this year! :j
I already know next month isn't going to be quite as good as I'd have liked due to more birthdays and a c/card balance of £250 that I have to clear; £50 of that was petrol though as I had a few extra journeys to normal last month and didn't quite make it to the end of the month without having to refuel.
I'm going to experiment a little with my journey to and from work this month. I have 2 completely different routes available to me; according to google maps the one I've favoured to date is 13.2 miles and a 28 minute journey. The other is also 13.2 miles but an estimated 30 minute journey - I stopped using this one simply because of 1 junction which is tricky to get out of first thing in the morning, that and because I would get stuck behind school coaches. My plan is to use my usual route to head to work but to use the other route to head home after work, the theory being that I might be able to reduce the commuting costs because the hilly points would work in my favour more this way round (I only have a small 3 cylinder engine so it isn't the greatest going up hills!). It might be a negligible saving, if any at all, but I figured it was worth a try! :rotfl:£12k in 2019 #084 £3000/£3000

Declaring £2586.10 for March. DH got a bonus so that has boosted the coffers.
Sadly our 15 month old cat was run over yesterday, breaking his back. We had to put him to sleep which was so sad. I can't believe he's gone. The vets fees were £773 . I would have gladly paid 10 times that had we been able to save him.If Plan A fails, remember there are 25 more letters0 -
