I'm so sorry to hear about the cat too :( How sad :(

I'm declaring for March, £414.63. Not as much as last month but it has taken me past £3,000 so I'm still on track. :)

Sadly our 15 month old cat was run over yesterday

I'm sorry about your cat tjp, that's really sad news. We lost our lovely black & white tom in a car accident a few years ago and I still miss him.

    I'm declaring for this month:

    #132 declaring £1107 for March.

I managed to get a few extra hours of work this month which was nice, and DH got a bonus from work which was doubly nice. We've just opened a new easy-access savings account (with better interest than our old one) so bonus money is currently floating around somewhere in the ether and will be added to next month's total.

I am also changing our target from 8k to 12k. We're saving more than I anticipated, and I forgot to factor in DH's bonus when I originally worked out our target, d'oh! Our savings will probably slow down a bit now it's coming up to summer but I reckon a 12k target will stretch us & motivate me to keep making savings where ever I can.

I've updated the spreadsheet with all this information! Happy April saving everybody :D

Declared £850 for March. Wanted to be able to add another £500 but as this is still in my current account I will add that to April.

I've opened another regular saver with Newcastle Building Society (can be opened online), pays 3% when you pay in between £1 and £500 a month. Decided to fund this and decide on which ISA to go for later in the year as rates are so poor at the moment. For anyone interested, it's The Big Home Saver account.

Sending my thoughts tjp and cydney, we lost one of our cats just before Christmas and it was a tough time. Stay strong.
  • Added £360 throughout the month to the savings pot and another £400 on payday giving me a total of £760 for the month. Expecting a BIG cheque next month due to a car accident. £4500 so thatll be my target reached which I will be very happy about. Overall it means we've nearly hit the £10k. Gonna keep saving til we reach the £15k mark for the house deposit.

So sorry to hear about your cat tjp. I have a wee man at the house too, I love him to bits so I cant imagine how ur feeling. BIG hugs from JCG.

tjp70 I'm so sad for you. No consolation but your boy will be at the Rainbow Bridge and pain free now.

Congrats to everyone for their savings, some of which left me open mouthed, but then I'm just a poor ol' pensioner ;)

The end of March came in not too badly, I've managed to save £320. I won't say it's been easy but I'm pleased with it, better than the previous months and it puts me on track to reach my goal. it's encouraging that I've already saved almost enough for the flight, albeit cattle class but as long as I have a seat I'm happy. Business would have cost four times as much

I don't know if you want to take me out SF as I said before, firstly I've come into an inheritance and therefore theoretically am way over my 6k intention and secondly, I may need to put some money into the business. Until the legal challenge is over following a regulation change, I haven't got a clue what I'm doing with either work or personal finances. Grrr.

Sorry to be an absent saver. I have been investing my savings rather than saving them so I didn't think I should add that amount to the spreadsheet, given the variability.

But I have managed a couple of nominal sums from other challenges/sources so I will add those in rather than have a blank

    #114 Declaring £658/£14,000

that's £0 for Jan, £0 for Feb and £658 for March (£600 in OH account and £58 in my Lloyds save the change saving box)

Thanks very much for your work on this thread + sorry to add to it
