Well done Cydney. Every penny counts.

I managed £1,015 this month. Will probably not add any money next month as it is my "overpaying the mortgage" month. Mortgage coming down and savings going up!

    All the best to everyone,

I have put in another £1000 as the decorating work has been put off until September but my work situation is so unsettled I can't make plans beyond that. Still, at least I have something behind me if things go pear-shaped!

Hello...totted up the figures since pay day...curently £5191.30 my savings and £1902.00 joint savings (Total: £7093.30). Not bad considering my car accident in June, and we still have money to claim back through solicitors etc, but this may take quite a few months :( Although I know DH has to get around £600 back from spends on his credit card on hols...but hopefully he can get it from surplus joint current account money rather than savings.
    Save 12k in 2014 (my target: £10 000):
    My savings: £4878.54/£7000
    Joint account savings: £2685.57/£3000
    Total:£7564.11/£10 000 (as at 26/10/14)

Total of £2514.98 for July, so up to £14,940.83 for the year to date - would have been better still but booked Christmas holiday in the sunshine of the Côte d'Azur, decided we need to get away from the gloom and drizzle of England (...and the in-laws... :D ). Very pleased with progress so far, Sept/Oct/Nov will be leaner months, but August should be good and on track to comfortably make my target now :)

Well done to everyone still saving away, great progress being made :D
  • Added another £50 to my total...the going is slow at the moment. So looking at £3350/£5000

    Hi everyone

Done ok this month, had the car MOT and service to pay, but this was slightly balanced by a refund of no.1 son's accommodation deposit from last year's digs (obviously not as trashed as I'd feared!). I'm in the middle of swapping some DD's over to my new Santander 123, so figures slightly askew at the mo - but will report £1439.83 for July.

Also just wanted to say a massive Well Done to everyone saving particularly those small amounts each month. These really do add up over time, so well worth sticking at it no matter what you can manage.

    Happy saving everyone.

£625 declared for July. I've found it harder this month for some reason.

The good news is that I've been promoted at work and will have increased money backdated to 1st May and paid in August. August is also bonus paying month, so fingers crossed for a bumper pay check.

I'm away with work all of next week and most of the following week. With all meals covered my spending should be very low. I'm also going to be away for 2 weeks in September, so lots of no spending days and hopefully be able to add a significant amount to my total.

I'm currently at 69% of target, which is 11% ahead of where I'd planned to be at the end of July. Very happy with that!

Nice to see everyone else doing so well, let's keep it going! :)
