Little bit extra for July for me. I'm now up to £11,500. Which means I'll hit my year's target early and everything else is extra!

Almost forgot to update for July. Unfortunately nothing saved but had a great holiday in the Carribean so I'm not too upset. :rotfl:

  • I know it is late in the year, but can I join? I would like to save £5000 in what is remaining of 2014. I have some money due (hopefully) from the sale of a car, but that will not count towards this total.

Ive been withdrawn from mse for a few months now. I have no idea why, I just lost my mojo in life.

Glad to say its creeping back in so i hope to end the month with some savings...not looking too hopeful as the kids are off and I promised my sister i would go away for a few days with her. Eek!

  • I'm clearly slacking! I haven't had time to write an update on July's payday as we have been too busy. In total we saved another £1,500 which puts us pretty close to the target even though much of it will be wiped out soon as we are due to complete on our new house next week!

We went to view the property last week after viewing it several times in April (when we had the offer accepted) Mrs MM & I were both worried and saying 'what happens if we don't like it now or its smaller than we remembered' in truth - we loved it even more and it looked even bigger!

Its a home for the next 25 years (Hopefully) and 3-4 years of grafting and saving are finally paying off. This is MM Basecamp where any additional MM family will grow up in a safe, secure environment. We managed to get the house under the £250,000 stamp duty level and although as mentioned we have no intentions of moving on I really want to develop the house and take it up to the next level by putting a better kitchen in etc. There is even room for an extension which long term I would love to build.

I will be overpaying on the mortgage from day one, but will still be going on this challenge until the end of the year and deffo will be signing up for 12k in 2015!

All in all exciting times for the MM family!

I feel like that every now and then too. No idea why either. I started up my diary to help overcome it and I am doing ok at the moment. Hugs xx

mintedmatty that is all great news! It's brilliant that you have found and managed to buy the home that you want. Nothing wrong with wanting to change it to your own specifications even if you are not planning to sell. I can't wait until I get my forever home :)

I also want to sign up to £12k in 2015. My target will be higher, promise!
