I know it is late in the year, but can I join? I would like to save £5000 in what is remaining of 2014. I have some money due (hopefully) from the sale of a car, but that will not count towards this total.

Oh dear things are not going well this month!

My laptop has died on me and I'm in the middle of some experiments (psychology student). I had a decent laptop on order for tomorrow but made the FATAL mistake of going to peecee world and fell in love with a Macbook! In my defence though, I did come home and find best price for it. This has severely affected my savings though :(

It's only fatal until you realise that Macbook's last a LOT longer than PCs.

Don't forget that you get a student discount via Apple, as well as the cheaper (£49 iirc) and longer (excellent) warranty and a £60 iTunes/Appstore voucher if you buy through them.

LAM - what a truly remarkable achievement. At that rate you will be streaking past us all with your savings efforts! Good luck to you.

Thank you. Although I don't think I will be streaking past - I keep thinking of things I want to buy which is why I really need to be part of another challenge.
