    Morning all

I'm afraid that April was a washout for me and I didn't put anything into savings #41. I am back on course for May.

I attended court yesterday representing myself and it went ok, just ok, I was so very nervous and had no idea what to expect. I bumped into the solicitor I used earlier in the year and she was excellent, she really helped me out and we had a little chat and she gave me a few pointers. For the next hearing it will be 4 hours long and I have to present statements and things to the court, how its supposed to be presented and exactly what the content must be I have no idea...so im tempted to use her again. It will cost me a fortune and handing over that kind of money will make me cry. The next hearing (if I used her) will be a fixed base rate plus an hourly rate, probably in the region of £2000 :( I can afford it but I don't want to, the money im saving is for my new house to share with my children and my sons private 11+ tuition. I really do hate some people :(

Aww nat sorry to hear you are having a difficult time. Would it be worth paying to have her act for you? Is it just the thought of representing yourself that is making you feel like that? I know it is easier having someone do it for you but if you properly research everything and look for cases like yours that have settled in favour of the person who was in your position then it probably won't be as bad as you think. I obviously don't know what your case is so if I have just typed nonsense then just ignore me. Just wanted to give you some (((hugs))) :)

Nat, sorry to hear what you are experiencing. If you can afford the money, maybe it'll be best in the long run, for your peace of mind to employ the solicitor. Although it's understandable to want to save for the future, sometimes we need to look after today as well, and spending a bit now can help with this

Well I randomly checked my ISA account, knowing fine well that the interest is not due until tomorrow, and they have updated my account with the amount! It has tomorrow's date beside it but I don't plan to move it at the moment.

So, April's declaration is £284.75. This takes my total so far for the year up to £726.59 so I would like to up my goal to £1,500 please SF. I have put that on my update form. I think it is doable but it will take some effort, which is good! :)

I've been really busy recently at uni so I haven't really kept you guys up to date but I'm really pleased with my savings progress. I gave up my job just before Christmas so I was worried about how much I would be able to put away but I've actually been able to save a lot this month thanks mainly to the tax man for my refund.

If I can find a summer job, I might be wanting to up my goal for the year!
